Before I begin, I must make a small disclaimer... I wouldn't call myself a hardcore Halloween person and have never been one to do very scary type of events nonetheless this year I decided to try Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and I must say that I enjoyed it very much!!! Yes I did!!!
So, if you're someone just like me... who is not fond of scares, frights, horror or anything in between, may I this one might just change your mind. So let us begin.... Universal's Halloween Horror Nights aka HHN is an event put together by the folks at Universal Studios. It's a separate ticket event provided on selected dates during the fall season leading up to Halloween.
In this event you'll find several haunted houses, scare zones and shows you can choose from, nonetheless I'd like to tell you a little bit about one of my favorite part of the night also known as "Safe Zones"!!
Safe Zones are perfect for people like myself who are easing into the experience without wanting to be non-stop horrified or scared to death (no-pun intended "wink wink nudge nudge"). These are little break zones for anyone wanting to take a much-needed break from the ghoulish night! Or areas you can mainly walk through and you won’t get jumped by or scared by a scare actors so much.
The best way to make the most of the event, and taking advantage of all it offers, is to make sure you get there as soon as it opens up! Main reason is because you get to see so much of what is happening early on and during day light. You'll be able to appreciate many decorations and sightings that could get lost to the naked eye in the evening. And of course you can see around who is around to scare you or not. :). One main Safe Zone is the sidewalks…when you are walking through the scare zones and you don’t want to be jumped scared then take the sidewalks in that area, scare actors don’t get to those points.
A last word to all you courageous travelers, don't forget to take breaks from time to time and do enjoy the special drinks and snacks (that are only available during HHN) away from the haunted areas and in your safe zone of preference. In my personal opinion those alone are worth the price of admission!
