Xcaret Group Hotels in the Riviera Maya are absolutely gorgeous resorts. One of the best perks of staying at these resorts is that some of the surrounding parks are included – plus the transportation to and from the hotel and the parks!

One of the more unique parks is Xenses Park. This park is a great half-day park. There are two paths of activities and adventures that allow both kids and adults to experience the world around them using their senses in unusual and fun ways.
You know you are in for a fun time when even the bathroom gives you a peak of what there is in store.

First, we chose The Path of Doing, Loose Perception. Along this path, your senses are tested in multiple activities. Our first experience began at the beating heart, where we were able to see, hear and feel the beat of a big heart.

Next, we entered a town where gravity plays tricks on you - where up is down and down is up! What I found so interesting about this town, was even though my brain understood what was happening, my eyes just wouldn’t “see” it!
We then started on a journey where we slid down a waterslide into a refreshing pool of water and then also had the opportunity to feel the sensation of flying as we zoomed on a zip line on Bird in Flight.

In Riverlaxing, we floated in quiet in a calming, salt river. I figured out the more relaxed I was, the easier it was to float and be soothed, which was a pretty amazing experience. This led us to Lodoroma, where our skin was renewed in a secret mud recipe – which covered us head to toe!

We then headed over to the Path of Feelings where we journeyed on the Path of Dwarfs and Giants and had a lot of fun playing with large and small perspectives.

At the Xensatorium, we experienced different ecosystems in complete darkness and enjoyed walking through the path using our senses of touch, sound, and smell to make our way along to the end.

Finally, we explored the inside of the Earth as we went through caves and caverns in the Labyrinth of Underground Arteries. We walked by a waterfall and saw flamingos, macaws, and got to drink lemonade poured directly from a tree!

Overall, I would highly recommend spending some time at Xenses – playing with different perspectives, using all your senses, and figuring out a place where nothing is like it seems – all while taking hilarious pictures and having a great time!
