What will 2025 bring for Walt Disney World? The answer, so many new entertainment options, dining experiences, and a reimagined attraction. Are there specific dates for these things? No, not yet. However there are so many amazing things coming that you will want to plan your next magical Walt Disney World adventure for 2025, and maybe more than one if you can make it work! Let’s continue on our journey to see what is in store for the new year and your next visit!
The one and only reimagined attraction for the 2025 season is Test Track, the beloved attraction at EPCOT, and it surely has been missed with the closure recently. It will return in late summer 2025 with the rebranding of General Motors. Once the engines power up, on the new redesigned cars, a new story line will be experienced by guests.
Also at EPCOT a new lounge will debut! Spaceship Earth Lounge will begin welcoming guests in late spring 2025. The new space will feature culinary masterpieces, beautiful pieces of art, and a new nighttime spectacular viewing area! This would be a wonderful place to experience some downtime during your adults-only trip to Walt Disney World.
Utilizing the Disney Skyliner (of course!) as we head to see what’s new at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for summer 2025! One new and one reimagined entertainment show will be set to open. A new take on the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid,” which closed in 2020, will now be named “The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure” will welcome guests with all new sets, cast, and new songs added to the setlist. The nostalgia is real with this new show, especially if you have seen the previous show.
Replacing Lightning McQueens Racing Academy will be “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.” With Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and Captain Hook breaking the barrier, they will perform live on stage while other villains join them from afar. This show is sure to be a popular one!
Over at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, a new nighttime parade will join the line-up of entertainment during the summer of 2025! “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” will feature characters from “Moana,” “Encanto,” “Frozen,” and I couldn’t imagine a nighttime parade without a sprinkle of pixie dust from “Peter Pan.” The concept art released by Disney Destinations shows “Moana” way finding over the ocean with Pua by her side. These parade floats are sure to be spectacular!

The second addition coming to Disney’s Magic Kingdom is Pirates of the Caribbean-Inspired Tavern. If you have been to the park recently, walls around the right side and exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction have been up and some work is being done. The tavern will open late 2025 and will be open to guests of all ages. There are some magical surprises in store for the area, so it will be a must visit once it does open!
The final park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will close “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” and retheme to a newer Disney Animation film. “Zootopia: Better Together!” will also be a 4D film, and will open in winter 2025.
Also closing in 2025 is DINOSAUR, but for good reason! The attraction will be closing its doors to make way for a new area, Tropical Americas Land. There has not been a ton of information given regarding the new land, but we have seen some “Encanto” peeks so that’s exciting!
While that is all of the new areas of the park to expect for the 2025 year, returning for another year is the Disney After Hours event! This special tickets event is held after the park closes, and includes select beverages and snacks at no additional cost! Experience attractions with lower wait times and the park with smaller crowds. Also, don’t forget that with your 2025 Walt Disney World stay, guests receive admission to a Disney Water Park for no additional cost during their resort check-in day!
