When I was asked to write about the difference between Disney Cruise Line’s all new Disney Wish and the other Disney cruises, I thought to myself, “I cannot imagine that there would be many.” What I found were many similarities, such as the attention to detail and the outstanding customer service. However, I was surprised that there were many differences that would allow those that have sailed before on Disney Cruise Line to have a variety of new experiences.

The first thing to know is that there are more Verandah and Concierge staterooms on the Wish than on the other cruise ships. As a travel agent, my job is to tell you about the best locations on the ship for the itinerary you are interested, such as which side will you get the best view of Castaway Cay. The great news is that the Disney Wish has so many great options to choose from!
There are amazing Broadway style shows that are available on all the Disney Cruise ships. The Disney Wish has a new show that is only available on the Disney Wish that features Minnie Mouse as the Captain of the Wish and Goofy that takes us on a new adventure through stories of adventure and new lands. The Disney Wish is also the only place to see the Little Mermaid Broadway style. The choreography and the set design of these Disney Cruise Line shows are worthy of Tony awards. These shows are great for all ages both for the young and for the young at heart.

The deck parties are also slightly different, but just as fun! The Sail Away Party has Captain Minnie and friends kicking off the perfect weekend getaway! The Pirate Deck Party is a great way to participate in a rock and roll dance party with some Pirates heading up the show! The Disney Cruise Line ships have the only fireworks at Sea! Make sure to ask your travel agent about where the best view options are!

The Wish also has some great adult only venues. The night clubs and lounges are spread out through the Disney Wish, versus the other Disney Cruise ships which has an area dedicated to the lounges. Each lounge has a specialty drink that you will want to make sure you ask for when ordering. Make sure to check out the Hyperspace Lounge, which is the only Star Wars based lounge on any of the Disney Cruise ships. You must order the famous Bayou Beignets!

For anyone that has been on a Disney Cruise previously, you are already aware that the dining experiences are top notch! There are three rotational dinner locations that are included in each Disney Cruise. The Disney Wish has some dining venues that are not to be missed! 1923- Walt Disney is dining experience that has a sophisticated feel and is reminiscent of the time of Walt Disney Company’s early beginnings. Make sure to check out all the artwork and the historical artifacts! Arendelle: A Frozen Dining adventure is the world’s first Frozen themed dining experience. Travel agent tip: have your travel agent request specific seating for you. The third restaurant included in the rotation is Worlds of Marvel, a dining experience both cinematic and interactive in nature with some of your favorite Marvel friends.

A Disney Cruise is one that will not disappoint those traveling with children, adults traveling without children, and off course the multi-generational groups. There is so much to do, and each day will be sure to bring a smile to your heart! Please reach out to a Marvelous Mouse Travel agent to book your Disney Cruise!
