When walking through Universal Studios Florida, guests are sure to see the sights of many different attractions and smell the amazing scents of goodies throughout the parks. One thing you do not want to miss is the live performances in the streets of the parks. Beat Builders, Drive In and Dance, Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees, The Blues Brothers Show, and Sing It! Are just a few of the amazing scheduled live performances throughout the park. However, there is one you want to be in the right place at the right time: ¡Vamos! – Báilalo!
¡Vamos! – Báilalo is a Latin dance experience is shown regularly scheduled performance in the streets of the New York area inside Universal Studios Florida. This show is sure to make guests gather while the performers dance their hearts out, and guests join in from the side, because the music just makes your body want to move!
To create this marvelous dance, there were five Latin dance teachers hired and brought in to help create and teach the performers of Universal, that were previously members of the parade that had been discontinued. With the parade no longer being a factor of each day in the parks, Michael Lee Ponton, director of ¡Vamos! – Báilalo, knew he needed something creative to replace the parade.
A member of the Universal copywriter team was able to go behind the scenes to see how the show and its members get ready each day. The performers do their own hair and makeup for the shows, which are performed six times each day, as long as weather conditions allow for it. There is approximately 45 minutes of “getting ready time” before they do a once over of the choreography, and then hit the streets to dance for the guests.
This show, which I have seen for myself, is high energy, fun, and the entire cast is so incredibly talented. I couldn't help but stop and watch as they danced in the 98º Summer sun of Orlando, Florida with such ease.
