Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic has recently received some new upgrades during the three week dry dock. Dry dock is where a ship undergoes some maintenance and upgrades. In this small timeframe, the ship was able to give some guest areas a facelift, and redecorate with two new themes! First is the evening lounge themed after ‘Soul’, a recent Pixar film. Second is the ‘An Encanto Celebration,’ a new interactive show, based on the popular Disney film, ‘Encanto.’

Soul Cat Lounge, is a new evening lounge where guests can enjoy music, beverages, and even some treats while taking in the atmosphere. This area was designed to look like a New York City jazz club, with brick walls, round tables, and deep wood accents. If you look closely, you will also see some tributes from the film like the hat and jacket from Joe, the main character in the movie. The walls are also decorated with concert posters, musical instruments, and some record labels.
While inside the lounge you will find yourself an awe inspiring menu of classic drinks, ones that will transport you to the jazz club. Martinis, cocktails, and more will have you dancing the night away. Zeppoles, an Italian pastry almost doughnut-like sweet, served with a dipping sauce will give you a little recharge between songs.
The second new addition to the ship is ‘An Encanto Celebration.’ Everyone is sure to enjoy the character meeting with Mirabel, but don’t forget about Bruno! Yes, Bruno will be there to chat with guests! How exciting is that? This show is a sing along style performance to all of our favorite songs from the film. While guests are creating special crafts designed after the magical film, the adults can sip beverages, crafted in South America, or mocktails designed by the magical film.
The final project during the three week dry dock was the concierge level area. The area received a new theme, after the Disney film Moana. This tropical paradise was extended and redecorated with new colors, and a new outdoor seating area right on deck 10. All of the concierge suites have received a new refurbishment too!
