Ways to Save Time and Money at Halloween Horror Nights

  1. Book a Package – Universal offers vacation packages that can save you money! You get to experience amazing accommodations, two incredible theme parks, one fantastic water park, early park admission, and HHN admission with Stay and Scream discounts.
  2. Buy your tickets ahead of time – When you purchase your tickets in advance you are saving time and money. You don’t have to wait in line for tickets once you arrive to the park and run the risk of them being sold out. Tickets are also less expensive when purchased in advance.
  3. Pick the right night to go – Going to HHN Sunday through Thursday nights are generally less crowded and admission isn’t as high as weekend nights. Also make sure to avoid holiday weekends to save on costs and the heavy crowds.
  4. Free parking after 10 pm – Parking is $26 per vehicle but if you come for the last half of the evening parking is free!
  5. Free water – Staying hydrated is key to any theme park event! Almost all food service locations provide free ice water so you can save $3-$5 by not having to purchase bottles of water.

  6. Snack instead of full meals – There are so many incredible snacks available during HHN. They have specialty snacks that you can’t experience any other time than during HHN. So be sure to check these out and even share to save money as well.
  7. Consider an Annual Pass – Premier passholders get one free night admission to HHN on select nights! You also receive discounts on HHN tickets if you have other tiers of annual passes as well.
  8. Frequent Fear Pass – There are a few of these passes to choose from that help you get the most bang for your buck! The Rush of Fear Pass starts at $129.99 and allows you to experience the first 17 event nights of Halloween Horror Nights. The Frequent Fear Pass starts at $179.99 and allows you to go to HHN for 27 nights on every Sunday – Thursday event night PLUS the first weekend of the event. The Frequent Fear Pass Plus starts at $219.99 and you will be able to visit HHN for 36 nights on every Sunday – Thursday event night PLUS the first Saturday and last Saturday event nights. Finally, the Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass starts at $324.99 and allows you to experience EVERY night of the event plus you get FREE regular parking after 5pm on event nights.
  9. Express Pass – This pass will save you the most time and is totally worth the price! If you can splurge on the Express Pass, then do it! Prices range from $119.99 to $209.00 plus tax depending on the night. This pass enables you to skip the standby queue and jump into a much shorter line. Often this line is more than half the standby queue wait time! This allows you to not only skip the lines for the houses but also the rides that are open during HHN as well. This pass allows you to visit each house or ride one time per night using the pass. Universal also offers a discounted express pass in the parks on a first come first serve basis. The pass will be valid from 10 pm to 1 am and is often much less expensive than a regular express pass.

  10. Get there early – Try to get there at least an hour before start time so you can be some of the first guests in and get through a few houses in the first hour or two of the event before it gets too crowded.
  11. Stay & Scream – If you have daytime admission to Universal Studios, you are able to gather in designated holding areas while waiting for the houses to open for HHN. This gets you first in line access to the houses closest to your holding area and allows you to knock out a few houses before the evening gets crowded! If you do not have a daytime admission, you can purchase a Stay and Scream pass that allows you to enter the park at 4pm to join one of the designated holding areas for $35 per person per night.
  12. Have a game plan – The HHN park map is already available so now is the time to make a plan! Make a list of what is most important to you and do those things first so you can be sure to get them all done. Another tip is to start at the back of the park and make your way towards the front to have lesser wait times since most people start with the houses at the front and work their way to the back.
  13. Book with a Marvelous Mouse Travel Agent – When you book with an MMT agent it is at no cost to you! We can assist with booking the whole package from start to finish and any extras that you may want or need! Reach out today!
