The holidays are in full swing at both Universal parks in Orlando and Hollywood! This could only mean one thing, Christmas is right around the corner! Thankfully we get the chance to celebrate for quite some time in the parks. Universal Studios Hollywood has released an ‘Official Guide to the Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood’, and I am 100% here for it.
When most people think of celebrating Christmas, they imagine snow, lights, music, and evergreen trees. While there are most of those things located in the park at Universal Studios Hollywood, there are also the sights of palm trees and maybe catching a glimpse of Santa on a surfboard!
Entering the parks at such a magical time of year brings more joy than ever! Especially seeing characters decked out in their festive holiday attire! This also includes Grinchmas! The Grinch is featured each evening during the tree lighting ceremony, and has plenty to say to the Who’s from Whoville that join him. The tree lighting is very popular, be sure to arrive early and grab the perfect viewing location. The Grinch and Max also host a meet and greet with guests throughout the day. Added last year was Cindy-Lou Who, which has a daily story time of Dr. Suess’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” How fitting! Are you ready to prove that your heart has grown three sizes this year? Write those kind gestures on a note and send them to the Grinch to help his heart grow too! The notes are sent from the Who-ville Post Office.
Heading towards The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, guests will be transported to Hogwarts during Christmas! The village rooftops are covered in snow, lights line the buildings, and special performances replace the regular dailies. Personalized gifts, like ornaments and notebooks are available for purchase along with other park exclusive merchandise. The regular nighttime spectacular is replaced with “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.” Also arrive early for this showing as it does get crowded very quickly.
