I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at the beautiful Beaches Turks and Caicos resort with my agency. I have been a travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels for over a year now and one of my favorite vacations to research are the all-inclusive resorts available to families. Let me start by saying that this destination was truly breathtaking. The lush landscaping is beautifully manicured and the rooms are well-cared for. The amenities at this resort are definitely what set it apart from other resorts. But I was also pleasantly surprised at the amount of activities available for the younger kids’ crowd.
As a travel agent, I am often asked by my clients for age-appropriate recommendations for their young children. There are often many activities for older kids (pre-teens and teenagers) at all-inclusive resorts, but the toddler and baby set just doesn't have many offerings. That is not the case at Beaches Turks and Caicos! There are so many things families can enjoy with their young children at Beaches Turks and Caicos, but these are my top 3 activities:
Most all-inclusive family resorts have some sort of kids' camp with activities for young ones, but Beaches Turks and Caicos really takes it up a notch! Camp Sesame specifically caters to children 1-4 years old, which I find to be an underserved age range at many resorts. Kids ages 1 & 2 years old are generally kept separate from the 3 & 4 year old group. The center I toured was a very peaceful environment, and I was able to observe children happily playing in the baby area with plenty of staff around to watch. There are planned activities all throughout the day, and you can sign your child up to be fed while at the center. Your child may even see their favorite Sesame Street character make an appearance! I was happy to meet Count von Count during my tour.
If you are looking for childcare outside of the normal operating hours for the center so that you can enjoy the nighttime activities on the property, there are sitters available for a very reasonable hourly rate. The staff is also certified with IBCCES so that they are trained on caring for individuals with autism and special needs; parents can be assured that their loved ones are in good hands. These caregivers can provide services to guests of all ages with special needs.
The waterpark at Beaches Turks and Caicos is amazing! This is something that kids of all ages will enjoy, but especially your young ones. There are water slides for big kids and kids at heart, but the water park also has fun water features that toddlers would delight in. There is a special pool just for the little ones, as well as pop-up jet features and a lazy river that they can float in with an adult. This area also features a mac and cheese food truck where you can find something for the adventurous and picky eaters in your crew, as well as a fun ice cream truck with shake specialty drinks. Yum!
One of my favorite activities during my stay at Beaches Turks and Caicos was the Sesame Street breakfast! This delicious meal included appearances by many of the Sesame Street characters. We danced and sang along during our meal while the characters came to our table for pictures. The kids also received a goodie bag with special prizes. These breakfasts are only on certain days and are an upcharge for your stay, but it was very reasonably priced compared to other character meals that I have enjoyed.
There are also nighttime shows that are kid friendly. Your little ones will love seeing the “big kids” perform at the Kids Talent Show. The Sesame Street evening show is fun for all ages. These performances are in the Open Air Theatre and are very interactive.
I focused on the youngest of our tribes with this blog, but kids of all ages will definitely have a good time at Beaches Turks and Caicos. The resort has thoughtfully prepared for little kids, big kids, and the young at heart!
