Top 10 Disneyland Attractions

By:  Leah Reeb, a Marvelous Mouse Travels vacation planner

Don't miss any of my top 10 Disneyland attractions!  They are each a must-do when you visit Disneyland!

It's. a Small World Top 10 Disneyland Attractions

10. It’s A Small World - If you have been to WDW already, you will want to ride this! The touches of Disney Characters throughout were so special to me. I had to ride it twice! It is very different from the one in WDW as this one is inside and outside. Trust me, the song will be stuck in your head but it is worth riding. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous.

9. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters - This ride is another one of those classics. For the most part in comparison to WDW, they are about the same. The difference is you can pick the laser gun up and shoot it, which I found to be a lot easier to score major points.. Families love to ride this and see who will come out on top. I was pretty impressed with myself with a high score of 105,200.

8. Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run - I love how interactive and fun this ride is. When you enter the que, you will either be the pilot, engineer, or the gunner. I find the pilot position to be the best one. The simulation of this ride is one of the best ones I have been on and I highly recommend it.

7. Pirates of the Caribbean - Many great things I loved about this ride. First, I loved that the ride goes through the Blue Bayou Resteraunt. You can dine in at the restaurant and watch the boats pass by. The next thing I loved about this ride was the thrill behind it. There are two drops on this water adventure, one that was big! Not enough to soak you tho, so no panic there. It definitely added an adventure to the attraction. The last thing I love about this ride is how insane the effects are from the pirates, to the lightning and sound, it is totally epic!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Top 10 Disneyland Attractions

6. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - I am a huge fan of roller coasters. I loved this ride in WDW and I love here at Disneyland. My favorite part about this ride is the intro saying.. “This here is the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness.” When it comes to intensity of this coaster, I would recommend that it is inbetween a 7 or 8. It just is enough thrill to give you that excitement but not that butterfly feeling of taking off at 60MPH or going upside down. It is a fun-family coaster that you will want to ride during the day and at night!

Top 10 Disneyland Attractions Haunted Mansion

5. Haunted Mansion - This ride is an absolute MUST-DO. You cannot go into the parks and not ride this. The que is incredible. You step into a room that prepares you for the frights you are about to endure. The great thing about this ride is if you go during Halloween it is completely transformed into Nightmare Before Christmas! The transformation is mind-blowing. The ride takes you through the mansion of all the different scenes that the ghosts lurk around in. At the end of the ride, you may have an unexpected guest coming home with you!

Rise of the Resistance Top 10 Disneyland Attractions

4. Rise of the Resistance -It is one of a kind. From the que to the trackless dark ride and simulation with awesome …. (don’t want to spoil it). It is well worth the wait, if there is one. I used my Lightning Lane for this attraction which was well worth it. This is one of those rides where the pre-show is just as awesome as the ride itself. Definitely recommend this ride for families.

3. Splash Mountain - Oh boy! If you love water rides, this is your GO-TO. The further you sit to the front to more soaked you will be. I happened to be the very first seat. There are multiple drops on this ride so before you even make it to the big one you might already be a little wet. I highly recommend ponchos. No matter what though, this ride is so much fun! Seeing the journey of all the critters through out and ending it with their celebration at the end is what makes this ride so enjoyable.

2. Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Journey - You have stepped into Indiana Jones movie when you ride this attraction. The ride  jerks you around as you encounter all the obstacles. It definitely keeps you on your toes with all twists and turns. The very end had me screaming in excitement, it was so much fun. This attraction fits many riders in one vehicle so the wait times go by very quickly.

1. Space Mountain - Hands down, best coaster at the park! Most coasters you have an idea of when you might go upside down or a big drop is coming.. With Space Mountain, you are in complete darkness, you have no idea what is coming. It is what makes this ride so exciting and different from other coasters. It has drops, twists, turns, and so much more all in the dark. I had to end my last day at the parks with this ride!
