Check in time is an exciting time in many cruisers' journey to the sea! For many first time cruisers this new experience can sometimes seem daunting. When in reality a few easy steps and you are on your way to being cruise ready. Here are a few tips and steps to help you prepare for your next Royal Caribbean Cruise vacation!
Step One: Download the Royal Caribbean App and link your cruise reservation! This can be done by visiting your app store! If you have not set up an account previously you can do this now or log in with your Royal Caribbean Account information now.
Step Two: Verify your check in date. This should open up 45 days prior to your sailing. You can confirm the exact date once you have your reservation linked to your Royal Caribbean App. Once in the app click on the icon at the top right of your screen. This will be your main profile where you can view your reservation details, like dining time, onboard reservations, and your Check in Time. Below is my next cruise check in date!
Step Three: Gather your boarding documents and make sure that the documents you are using meet the requirements for your cruise. Names should match exactly as they appear on your reservation. If you notice any differences or have questions on your required documents, make sure to reach out to your Marvelous Mouse Travels agent for assistance!
Step Four: Take a security photo. If you have multiple cruisers, taking each person's photo ahead of time can speed up the process on check in day! If you plan to take pictures ahead of time, make sure to use a plain background with good lighting to avoid shadows. Pictures should clearly show your face and glasses, hats or other accessories should be removed. This step can be skipped and done on check in day instead! There is a camera app that allows you to take your picture during your check in process.
You have gathered all your information and are ready to complete the check in process! Now it should be a breeze! At your convenience, log into your app and where the date used to be, will now show a box that says “Complete Check In”. Once there you will see three fields to complete.
My suggestion is to start with field 2 and select your Arrival Time for each guest you are managing and then go back and complete the Travel Document section. When choosing your arrival time you will want to coordinate times with the transportation you will be using to the port! If you need transportation, your Travel Advisor will be happy to help you coordinate your ride to coincide with your arrival time!
Once you have all the arrival times selected for your party, you should now go in and start your travel information section. This is where you will indicate what documents you intend to use for boarding, upload or take your security photo and verify personal information. If you do not have time to do this right away, no worries! You can come back and complete this at your leisure. Just make sure you do not forget to do this prior to boarding or you won’t get your boarding pass.
If you have not already linked your Crown and Anchor number, you can do that now! Crown and Anchor Loyalty numbers are an important way to track your cruises and gain loyalty points and status which can be used for discounts during your next cruise!
The last field will be your health questionnaire. This will not be available to complete until 24 hrs prior to your cruise. So don’t sweat it when you can’t complete it quite yet. You will receive an email or notification when this section is open to be completed.
Once everything is completed you will receive your boarding pass right in your app and will be ready to go! Make sure on boarding day to present the same documents you used for check in at the port as they will be required for boarding.
Now that you are successfully checked in, it's time to finish your cruise countdown!! The dreams you had of the next big thrill or a relaxing day at the beach are soon coming to reality!
