Disneyland has announced the official closing date of the famous attraction, Splash Mountain. Many guests are sad to see the classic ride be changed, but it is for good reason! Princess Tiana, a Princess that has shown that hard work and dedication can make dreams come true, will be reviving the attraction with new, updated features as Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
There is still time to take one more ride on Splash Mountain in Disneyland before it closes for good on May 31, 2023. The attraction in Walt Disney World has already closed its queue line to guests in January 2023 and there are some noticeable changes to the attraction that is already being seen in the park.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has not had any large pieces of news released since they placed the new signage on the construction site walls, until now. A fan favorite of the movie, and a big part of Tiana’s adventure has been announced to be making an appearance on the new attraction. Mama Odie, the “bayou fairy godmother,” will be joining Tiana on her new endeavor and will be present on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Mama Odie has not used her powers to help people solve their problems, but has guided her visitors, like Tiana, to “dig a little deeper” to find a solution.
Disney has also released some new details of what to expect for the new attraction that is set to open in 2024. One thing that Disney is known for is the enticing smells as you’re exploring different areas. Everywhere you walk in the parks, resorts, and merchandise locations, you will find a distinct smell. The attraction will be no different. While guests take in the new queue, you are sure to catch the smell of fresh beignets being baked. It has also been noted that there will be adorable little swamp friends throughout the ride, and new music created especially for the ride! Do you have a favorite character from the film? It is possible that they will be featured as part of the attraction. There have been many characters listed as part of the line up that will be shown throughout.
