Thrills and Chills at Universal Volcano Bay

Universal Parks and Resort Vacations is known for its immersive experiences at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resorts. However this is often one park that is overlooked at Universal Orlando Resorts, and that is the gorgeous Universal Volcano Bay. When guests vacation to Orlando, they usually hit the theme parks and ignore the optional waterpark. Why? I’m not totally sure, because honestly it is one of my favorite parts about Universal Orlando. The serene areas of the water park offer a quiet location to relax while the other areas offer thrills, waves, and a little bit of relaxation with the lazy river. If you have skipped this park, you are seriously missing out on an amazing day!

Did you know that Universal Volcano Bay also offers quite a few amazing dining options? Pizza, burgers, seafood, and so much more! Every member of the family will find an amazing dish to enjoy with their visit and keep them fueled for even more waterslides. There are five locations offered to all guests, one bar, and one dining option only available to Premium Seating and Cabana guests. Let’s explore the fuel for your day at Universal Volcano Bay.

Kohola Reef Restaurant and Social Club is where you will find food closest to Waturi Beach. The menu includes a chicken sandwich named Kohola Chicken Sandwich that is chicken marinated in Tandoori, with a cucumber mango basil slaw, with avocado mayo. The next menu item is a Mahi Sandwich Platter that consists of toasted coconut bread and pineapple salsa. Coconut Curry Chicken, Island Bacon Cheeseburger, and a Mango BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, Hawaiian Ribs, and Longboard Pizza (cheese, pepperoni, and veggie) are also available. One amazing thing about this location is that they also have a grab-and-go section that offers salads, sushi, wraps, and even fruit!

The next location is a kiosk, one of many. The Rainforest Cart offers a Coconut Watermelon Chia Pudding and Volcano Boba (which is for those guests 21 years and older).

Whakawaiwai Eats is full of amazing eats. The foot-long pretzel dog is large enough to share, but delicious enough to not want to. Island BBQ Chicken Pizza (one of my favorites here) is also a 12’ flatbread pizza that has a mango infused BBQ sauce, red onions, and gouda cheese. The Jerk Shrimp Mac and Cheese Combo looks phenomenal!

A little Tex-Mex food can be found at The Feasting Frog. The menu features items like tacos, chorizo bowls, and a Poke Poke Bowl. The bowl features raw ahi tuna with pineapple salsa.

If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place to dine, Bambu is the place for you! Perfectly light and refreshing for your day, the Island Chicken Salad features chicken, apples, and grapes with a coconut dressing. There are also items like chicken tenders, bacon cheeseburgers, and a quinoa Edamame burger.

A perfect chill way to take a break is with ice cream. Koka Poroka Ice Cream offers many flavors and can be purchased in a cup or a cone.

With over 20 water attractions, guests can spend an entire day or more at Universal Volcano Bay, plus guests staying at a Universal resort receive an extra hour in the park with Early Entry! Tickets can be bundled into your vacation package, and the agents that specialize in Universal Park and Resorts Vacations at Marvelous Mouse Travels can help you create the perfect package for your family!
