If you're heading to Disney, Universal, or any theme park, for a vacation or even just a day, Mandy has put together a great list of what you need to pack for the park!
Wondering what to take with you for a day at Disney or Universal? My personal preference is a backpack for it's convenience. Of course I don't want to carry around a 50 pound backpack all day, so here are some must haves that myself and other Marvelous Mouse Travels agents are sure to take with us:
Ponchos. You will most likely experience rain at some point during your Disney World vacation. Go ahead and purchase cheap ponchos prior to your stay and pack them with you! If not, you can spend a small fortune on them at the Parks.
Sunscreen. Enough said!
Advil or Tylenol. After a day of walking, you may find that you either have a headache or muscle aches. It is not cheap if you have to buy medicine at the parks.
Hand sanitizer and baby wipes.
Sunglasses/Hat. You won’t want to be without these in sunny Florida.
Ziploc bags. If you plan on going on Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, or getting wet, you will want to have a bag to store items like your phone.
Water Bottles. Bring your own & you can refill it for free. You can refill at water fountains, but I prefer getting cups of ice water from quick service restaurants because they are complimentary and cold. I like to buy the fun Disney character water bottles before our trips at the Dollar Store and give them to the kids as a treat.
Snacks. Rather than spending a ton of money buying snacks, save your money for the special Disney treats like Mickey Bars and Dole Whips. You can bring anything with you from protein bars to Goldfish!
Change (specifically quarters and pennies). If you are looking for cheap souvenirs, you can get Disney pressed pennies for 2 Quarters and a Penny.
Band-aids.
Charge cord for your phone and a portable charger. There are charging stations located in the parks and at some restaurants in the event you need one, but a portable charger is much more convenient.
Something for autographs and a retractable Sharpie or special pen for character meet and greets.
Glow stick necklaces. These can be found at the Dollar Store and are great if you are planning to stay for the night shows. It will (hopefully) prevent your kids for begging for the expensive Disney wands and glow sticks ones if you hand them these just before it gets dark.
Ribbon if you have a stroller. Stroller attendants will take your stroller and park it when you go on rides. Tie a bright ribbon on top to easily find yours. I suggest cheap, fold-up umbrella strollers for any children age 6 and under or asking your MMT agent to set up a stroller rental for you. Even if they never ride in a stroller anymore, Disney requires a LOT of walking!
Something for kids to do while waiting in line. Mini/pocket sized sticker books or coloring books are a lifesaver if you’re waiting in a long line.
Cooling towels or personal fans with a water spritzer.
Extra ponytail holders. I never leave the house without these anyway!
What do you take with you to Disney Parks? Is there anything tried and true that you would add to the list?
