I just returned from a quick trip, and I couldn’t wait to share all the incredible things that make the holidays at Universal Orlando truly unforgettable and magical vacation experiences.
First things first—have you met Earl the Squirrel? Do you know about the lore of Earl the Squirrel? This mischievous little character has become a beloved part of Universal’s holiday traditions. You can spot him hiding in the giant Christmas tree at Universal Studios Florida or meet him in person for a festive photo op in front of Central Park. Earl’s quirky, nutty charm is the perfect way to kick off your holiday adventure! Best of all and new this year, he has his own book available for purchase in the Holiday Tribute Store which has a section dedicated to this nutty character.
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Grinchmas at Islands of Adventure. The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular brings Dr. Seuss’s classic tale comes to life with a heartwarming live show featuring the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, and the Whos of Whoville. The music in this show was recorded by Mannheim Steamroller with the score composed by Chip Davis. This theatrical retelling takes the stage several times throughout the day.
In Seuss Landing, the festive decorations make this whimsical land even more magical. Don’t miss a chance to interact with the Whos—they’re always ready for a laugh, a chat, or a spontaneous carol! And of course, you’ll want to visit The Grinch himself for a hilariously memorable meet-and-greet. Have your cameras ready as you never know who you will see when strolling through Seuss Landing.
Step into a winter wonderland at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where the magic of the season truly comes alive. Both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are decked out with enchanting holiday decor, and the festive atmosphere is only enhanced by the sounds of holiday tunes performed by the Frog Choir and Celestina Warbeck.
The highlight? The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle! This spectacular nighttime projection show transforms the castle with dazzling visuals and heartwarming holiday scenes straight from the wizarding world. It’s a must-see! The show runs nightly starting at dusk until Islands of Adventure closes. It is truly a magical experience.
Nothing says the holidays like a parade, and Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is a showstopper! Gigantic balloons, elaborate floats, and festive performers fill the streets of Universal Studios Florida, with Santa himself making a grand appearance. It’s a perfect way to end a day filled with holiday fun. New this year to the parade line up this year is a penguin inside a broken Christmas ornament. The Holiday Parade runs nightly and features larger than life balloons as well as parade floats and a variety of holiday characters sure to bring a smile to your face.
Universal Orlando’s 2024 Holiday Tribute Store is a must-visit for anyone who loves holiday cheer and unique souvenirs. This immersive, themed shopping experience is more than just a store—it’s a festive journey through beautifully decorated rooms filled with exclusive holiday merchandise, personalized gifts, and tasty seasonal treats.
