All around the world, Disney Destinations is celebrating the spooky season in fabulous ways! From the theme parks to the cruise line, guests can experience the magic of Halloween fun one way or another. The Halloween fall festivities kicked off on August 9, 2024 at Walt Disney World Resorts and August 23, 2024 at Disneyland Resort. Both theme parks will continue the fun through October 31, 2024. Disney Cruise Line offers select sailings with Halloween on the High Seas theming, also throughout October 31, 2024. Let’s see what guests can expect during the most frightful time of the year!
The beautiful fall colored leaves and Mickey Pumpkin wreaths have made their debut in the parks! Inside Disneyland Park the larger than life Mickey Pumpkin has also made his appearance for the season on Main Street U.S.A.. Also inside the park, on select nights, there is a projection and light show on the castle that is hosted by Jack Skellington and Zero. The show also features music to the theme of all of the Halloween fun! Haunted Mansion Holiday has been transformed into the amazing Nightmare Before Christmas overlay featuring Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and the famous gingerbread house.
Disney California Adventure Park, at Disneyland Resort, also offers the amazing special event Oogie Boogie Bash on select evenings. Full of fun, Trick or Treat Trails, Villains, and specialty food and beverage options it feels like one night just isn’t enough to experience it all. This event does require a special event ticket, separate from the regular daytime ticket.
At Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, at Walt Disney World, guests have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Similar to Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland, there is trick or treating, exclusive food and beverages, entertainment, and new this year are the Villains! While they are not quite on the same scale as inside Oogie Boogie Bash, it has been said that there are a selection of Villains inside some of the Trick or Treat Trails at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. Their appearances are always subject to change.
During the event, there is also a special stage show that takes place, which is hosted by the three witches from Hocus Pocus with special villainous guests. Each night of the event, weather permitting, there is a castle nighttime spectacular as well. Hosted by Jack Skellington, the castle is lit up by projections and the sky by the amazing Disney fireworks.
Both events, Oogie Boogie Bash and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, have special exclusive merchandise, food, and beverage options available for purchase.
If you’re hitting the high seas for the Halloween season, guests can experience so much there as well! During those select Halloween on the High Seas sailings, there is a special night where guests and characters dress up and have a ton of fun! A themed dance party, trick or treating, and even adult exclusive Halloween events.
