We are coming to the end of the spooky season, which means the holiday season is upon us! Not just any holiday season though, the holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood. This year brings new and exciting opportunities in the park as well. The official kick-off will begin on November 29, 2024 and will continue through January 6, 2025. Let’s find out what Universal Studios has in store for this year!
The fun starts inside Universal CityWalk Hollywood. Here guests will be able to shop and dine their way around the complex. A 40-foot Christmas tree will be present to help boost the holiday spirit, and thousands of lights will deck the halls. There will also be live performers and DJs throughout the holiday season.
As with every winter holiday season in the park, guests can experience “Grinchmas” inside the park. Here guests have the opportunity to meet the Grinch and Max. There will also be a story time with Cindy-Lou Who, where she reads “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Guests can also visit the adorable Who-ville Post Office where they can mail a postcard with “their three good deeds” as stated by Universal Studios Hollywood. Another fun activity offered is crafting a paper ornament to hang on a Grinchmas tree, or you can take it home to hang on your tree.
The 65-foot Grinchmas tree is a must see sight, which you really cannot miss with how massive it is. Covered in the lights and ornaments, this beautiful tree is in the center of Who-ville. Making a return for the 2024 season is the singing quartet. You may be thinking, there is not a Who-ville inside Universal Studios Hollywood. You are correct, but the park turns Universal Plaza into Who-ville for the season.
“Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” also returns this year inside Hogsmeade Village. Here guests will find exclusive items available for purchase that make the perfect gift for their witch or wizard loving friend. The Frog Choir will also return with a holiday a cappella shows.

Every evening, “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” will be presented at the castle. The light projection show is so enchanting that it will stop you in your tracks. Don’t forget to grab a Butterbeer to enjoy the projections, they are served hot, cold, or frozen!
This year, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD is included in the celebration of the holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood. A Nintendo themed tree will feature a Super Star on top. There will also be two snowmen, meant to resemble Mario and Luigi with their respective red and green hats and scarves. The snowmen will be available for a photo op!

There will be holiday merchandise available for purchase and seasonal treats at Toadstool Cafe!
