Super Nintendo World Preview!

Super Nintendo World

By:  Jaclyn Vercillo, a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent

Are you ready to enter Mushroom Kingdom to help save Princess Peach from the evil Bowser? Then it’s time to head to Universal Studios Hollywood and visit the all new Super Nintendo World officially opening February 17th 2023. This long-awaited addition to Universal Studios is not to be missed and we were so lucky to get a sneak peek.

Super Nintendo World Princess Peach Castle

Super Nintendo World is located in the lower lot of Universal Studios. Once you enter through the tunnel you become part of a game…literally. You will feel like you have been shrunk into a life size video game. From the moment you enter through Princess Peach’s castle into Mushroom Kingdom it’s game on! The Kingdom is small but the details are incredible. I was instantly hit with nostalgia and ready to crush a few bricks Mario style. Adults and kids will love this experience.

Power Up Bands Super Nintendo World

First thing I recommend doing is purchasing your Power up bands. In order to fully experience the land and earn points you will need these. They are $43 each and can be purchased at dispensers when you walk in. Once you get your bands it’s time to start leveling up and earning points. You will be ranked individually and a team ranking. For example, if you choose Mario for your power up band, you are on team Mario for the day. You can scan in your band on the Universal app and check your points and score throughout the day. There are interactive elements throughout the land to earn points and you can earn when you ride the attraction as well.

The character interactions are fantastic. We got to meet Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. They are available for photos and meet and greets. They also make the same sounds as in the actually video game!

MarioKart Bowser's Challenge Super Nintendo World

We were so lucky to ride the new attraction Mario Kart Bowser’s challenge. It was amazing and the technology was impressive. We grabbed our special goggles and helped fight off the evil Bowser and defend the fabulous Princess Peach. The line queue was also fun and exciting. The suspense builds as you eventually enter into Bowser’s castle. You will want to ride this attraction multiple times since your outcome can be different each time. I loved this ride and my kids gave it a 10 out of 10.

Toadstool Cafe Super Nintendo World

After defending Mushroom Kingdom in Bowser’s challenge you may need to refuel and there is no better place than Toadstool Cafe! The atmosphere is adorable and you can watch the toads make your meal as you wait. We ordered the Toadstool Cheesy Garlic knots, Piranha Plant Caprese (visually a work of art), Mario mini burger Adventure set, ?Block Tiramisu, and the Princess Peach cupcake. All were fantastic but our favorites were the Piranha caprese and the Garlic knots. They had so much flavor! The cupcakes are huge and perfect for sharing. This quick service spot is a great addition to Universal.

Special shout out to the Universal cast members running the land. They made our experience exceptional. They talked to us and told amazing stories, checked on us constantly, and took our pictures for us. Trust me you are going to want to visit soon and see this spectacular Kingdom filled with memories of old and to create new memories. As Luigi would say “Let’s-a-go” it’s “Luigi time”!
