February means we are less than 110 days away from the brand new Universal Epic Universe opening at Universal Orlando Resort. This makes the fourth park for the destination, and an entire new way to experience Universal Orlando Resort. This is also the second location in the US for SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and here we have the top things that fans are looking forward to with the opening of Universal Epic Universe in regards to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
With the recent opening of Donkey Kong Country at Universal Studios Japan, the Orlando location is the next to open a Donkey Kong Country (the first in the US) and the excitement has hit many guests! Guests are expected to experience interactive activities such as games, meet and greets with characters, themed food locations, and three attractions!
Mine Cart Madness is the attraction that is located within Donkey Kong Country, and it has an amazing appeal to it. Set in the jungle, the carts leap over a broken track overtop of Golden Temple. This has been the talk of the town since it was announced by Universal. The storyline of the attraction is that you are helping Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong protect the Golden Banana from the Tiki Taki Tribe. The themed food location here will serve sweet treats at The Bubbly Barrel plus a merchandise location named Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy.
Another attraction, one that I have experienced at Universal Studios Hollywood, is Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. Here you load into a cart and race through the course as a Mario Kart Characters. During the attraction you can collect digital coins, plus throw bananas and shells to try and beat Team Bowser for the Golden Cup. My tip for this is to be sure that you have your SUPER NINTENDO WORLD account set up with your PowerUp band before you enter the attraction. Figuring it out while in the queue was slightly tough.
The third attraction is Yoshi’s Adventure, which will be a family attraction. Travel through Mushroom Kingdom and look for glowing eggs. Universal Epic Universe will be the very first location for this attraction.
We talked about meet and greets being inside SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and we have a list of the characters that will be out and about. Obviously Mario and Luigi will be out, but Princess Peach, Toad, and even Donkey Kong will be greeting guests in Donkey Kong’s Treehouse inside Donkey Kong Country.
The Toadstool Cafe will also be joining the lineup. Burgers, salads, soups, other entrees, and desserts will be available for purchase, making it the perfect place for the entire family to refuel at any point throughout the day.
