When I started thinking about where I wanted to go for a girls getaway with my best friends from high school, Sun Palace was immediately at the top of my list. I had visited before, and I already knew it was the perfect place for a relaxing long weekend together.
One of the things I love most about Sun Palace for a girls trip is that it’s a boutique-style resort. It’s not overly large, which means you don’t spend your vacation constantly walking long distances or trying to get from one side of the resort to the other. Everything feels easy, relaxing, and close by — exactly what we wanted for a fun weekend away.
Another thing we loved was that the resort really offers two completely different vibes depending on your mood. There’s a chill pool where you can relax quietly by the water, but there’s also a more upbeat party pool if you’re looking for music, energy, and fun. We loved being able to switch back and forth depending on how we felt each day.
The location is also absolutely incredible. Sun Palace sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, with stunning turquoise water and soft white sand. We spent so much time just soaking in the views. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is truly one of the most beautiful places to spend an afternoon.
The food and drinks at Sun Palace are some of the best I’ve had in Cancun, and trying the different restaurants together became one of our favorite parts of the trip. We absolutely fell in love with the Thai restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the bartenders even created unique cocktails for us to pair with dinner, which made the experience feel extra special.
In the evenings, we spent time hanging out at the bar, talking, laughing, and simply enjoying being together without the distractions of everyday life. Sometimes the best vacations aren’t about nonstop activities — they’re about slowing down and reconnecting.
One of our favorite daily routines was starting the morning with an iced coffee and a crepe from the coffee shop before heading out to the pool. It quickly became our little tradition and honestly one of my favorite memories from the trip.
Sun Palace was the perfect destination for us to relax, bond, and enjoy quality time together. If you’re looking for an adults-only resort in Cancun that combines amazing food, a fun atmosphere, and a more intimate boutique feel, this is such a great option for a girls getaway.
