I recently had the opportunity to visit a few of the all-inclusive Iberostar resorts in Mexico. As a travel agent mom to 3 active children, I am always on the hunt for unique vacation opportunities for my family. It can be hard to please every kid when you have a mix of ages (mine are 7, 11, and 13), but the Iberostar resorts certainly have a lot of activities for both the young and the young at heart!
My travels took me to 3 of Iberostar’s complexes in the Riviera Maya and Cancun areas. All 3 of these locations are so unique, with many different offerings. I was so happy to see that all of them offered a version of their kids’ club - Star Camp!
Star Camp is a (free) children’s program aimed at kids aged 4-17. Activities are focused on 3 different age categories: 4-7 years old (Monkeys), 8-12 years old (Dolphins), and 13-17 years old (Eagles). If your children are under 4, you can take them to the Star Camp facility to play with them! The staff plan age- appropriate activities for the kids, including traveling outside of the Star Camp building to the pools. Star Camp is open most of the day serving lunch and dinner to your littles, but if you find you need childcare outside of their operating hours, there are nannies available for an additional fee.
Speaking of pools, let’s chat about the fun to be had at the Paraiso complex! This location boasts a lazy river, water slides, a splash pad for the youngest travelers, and a wave pool. And there is a ton of seating for mom and dad to sit close by and watch their young ones (maybe with a drink in hand). I would let your travel agent know that you want to stay in the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites or Paraiso Linda so you can enjoy the full benefit of being able to access these perks. In addition to Star Camp and all the pools, no family trip to an Iberostar resort would be complete without hanging out on the beach.
