Tucked away in the Mission: Space Pavilion, located at 1382 Avenue of the Stars, Orlando, Fl. is the restaurant known as Space 220. Since it opened in the fall of 2021, it has been one of the hottest reservations on Earth! (Or Space!) As a travel agent, I make sure that my clients know that if they are interested in going, we need to start looking at the 60 day mark before they wish to dine there. The only way to get a reservation a little bit earlier than 60 days out is to stay on a Disney property. That way you have 60 days before the start of your trip, not necessarily the day you plan to go to Space 220.
We had reservations for lunch. Once we checked-in for our reservation, we were handed a “Space Elevator Boarding Pass”. As any travel agent will tell you, “keep track of your boarding pass!”
When they called our name we were led to the “Stellarvator” and stepped inside. As the door closed there was an announcement that we were heading to the Centauri Space Station located 220 miles directly above Epcot! Once it lifted off, looking down you could watch as Epcot, then Earth, fairly quickly disappeared from view as you ascended. If you were looking up, you could watch as the Space Station came into view. It truly felt as if we had traveled far from the Earth and arrived somewhere in space.

At the station, you turn your boarding pass over to the host and are shown to your table. You are immediately immersed in an “atmosphere” that feels like a Space Station! From the subdued lighting, the blue and gray carpet, the gray-scale color scheme of the tables, chairs and walls the only noticeable light coming from the white outlines, and occasional line of blue light for accent. The most noticeable part has to be the entire wall of panoramic views of space! First, we started with a few of the Specialty Drinks. My daughter ordered from the “Zero-Proof” menu. It offers 3 selections; Lightyear Lemonade, Moon Rocks (coconut, blue cotton candy syrup, lemonade, and moon rocks), and the Milky Way. She chose the Milky Way (chilled espresso, spiced brown sugar syrup, caramel, and cream).

For cocktails we ordered a PLANETARY PUNCH and an ATMOSPRITZ for their presentations! The Planetary Punch was originally served tableside to ensure that it is still bubbling and “smoking” when it gets to you. If you request it tableside, they will probably do that for you. The Atmospritz is a fun presentation as well. It is made in a shaker, then poured over the large cotton candy garnish.
They offer a price fixe two-course meal for lunch ($55per person). The price includes one “Lift-Off” and one “Star Course”. Our family of four, each tried a different item from the “Lift-Off” menu. We chose the Starry Calamari, Neptuna Tartare, Big Bang Burrata and the Centauri Caesar Salad. As you can see, the presentations were all stunning and the food was very good. Our favorite was the calamari.
For our “Star Course,” we tried the Coffee Space-Rub Flat Iron Steak, the Gemini Burger, and the Roasted Chicken Breast w/Black Truffle Jus. Everything was very good! Unfortunately we could not fit a dessert!
We returned to Epcot completely satisfied with our trip to the Space Station Centauri for lunch at Space 220! We highly recommend it for the entire experience including the journey, atmosphere, and food and drinks. Truly a unique experience!
