We are quickly approaching the new Fan Fest Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood where Anime, Gaming, and Sci-Fi come together in one place for guests to enjoy. Stories of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, Star Trek, Back to the Future, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and more come together exclusively for these select nights inside the park. This event is a special ticketed event that runs after hours on weekends beginning April 25, 2025 through May 18, 2025.

The first immersive area that we get to explore is “Star Trek: Red Alert.” The first immersive experience is a walkthrough of U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 D. During the tour that you experience, something happens and guests will need to continue their mission. The starship also features settings that guests can use as photo opts during their visit. Areas like the control room, sick bay, and even the iconic bridge which features parts of the original bridge, which has to be every fans dream!
Not only do guests get to experience this immersive experience, but there are also themed food and beverage options. Quark’s Cafe will have an entire menu dedicated to Star Trek themed options. Klingon Targ legs is a charsui honey pork wing served with a side of kimchi fried rice. The next item is a Adorian Red Bat Sandwich which is a marinated chicken breast served on a bao bun and Adorian Tuber Root. Fried mushroom fritters have been named Vulcan Fritters, while a matcha-dusted funnel cake is called Orion Spice Funnel Cake. The Hot Cheeto dust Korean-style corn dog has made a return as the Cardassian Dog. There are more options that will be available during the fun-filled event.
I mentioned Anime being present during the Universal Fan Fest Nights, but I specifically didn’t mention that it would be Jujutsu Kaiden, a high school student that joins an organization to eliminate a curse. This will be represented by “Hunger of the Cursed” themed food and beverage options that can be found near the DreamWorks Theater which is also where the show of the groundbreaking ceremony takes place. Adventure continues as your seat begins to rumble and a battle erupts. Now, back to the food options. A red velvet cookie with white chocolate chips is on the menu but is referenced as Sukuna Cursed Crunch. A churro called Ten Shadows Churro features two halves of a churro, each representing something different. One half is an Oreo churro that has vanilla frosting and the other half is a powdered sugar with a chocolate drizzle. The final treat is Yuji’s Chocolate Brownie that features a caramel swirl, vanilla buttercream, and delicious crunchy pearls.
The final stop for now is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While this area is not new to the park, it will be offering some friends that are new to the park! Guests attending Universal Fan Fest Nights will be able to meet and greet with a Niffler, an Occamy, and a baby dragon! The Niffler, representing “The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” is a furry little creature that is attracted to shiny things. Once they get their paws on something they store it in a pouch on their bellies. The baby dragon, representing “Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone,” is a Norwegian Ridgeback that is similar to the baby dragon that Hagrid hatches. The final creature, an Occamy, also represents “The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” It is a bird-like creature that has size adjusting powers to fit into any space. For the evening, the Occamy has shrunk itself to fit upon its handlers shoulders to greet with guests.

All of these amazing immersive experiences will have exclusive merchandise available and I cannot wait to see what the designers have come up with. There will be more information on this experience as the first weekend opens, and hopefully it is so successful that Universal Studios Hollywood does it again!
