When planning my own travel plans there are many factors that go into choosing the right destination or resort. As an avid traveler, this was my first Sandals Property visit, which has led me to book onsite my follow-up trip! But more on that later. Factors that lead me to choose Sandals Royal Caribbean over the other five (soon to be six) resorts, were the proximity to the airport, the budget for our butler-level suite, and the ability to stay at one and play at two. I would highly suggest this resort for newlyweds looking for a relaxing honeymoon with the option for more entertainment. Follow me along as I recap our Sandals Royal Caribbean vacation!
We arrived at the Sangster International Airport early afternoon via an American Airlines direct flight from Charlotte, NC. This was a large deciding factor as our trip was only five days long and we did not want to move from airport to airport for long layovers. Once we had landed we complete our Jamaica paper entry forms and were greeted by our VIP Meet-and-Greet through Club Mobay. This was an additional service for arrival and departure but hands down my favorite add-on for a vacation to Jamaica. Make sure to add it as soon as you have confirmed your flights as it is based on availability. Rates are quoted in USD at $83 per adult bundle service and $48 per child (ages 2-12) for the bundle service. Since we booked the bundle arrival and departure VIP service we had seamless expedited travel through the often busy Sangster International airport. Our guide met us at the end of our terminal and quickly lead us to the private line for Club Mobay guests for Customs and Immigration. The process was seamless and the attentive guide answered all our questions before leaving us in the capable hands of the Sandals Resort Guest Airport Lounge. This is included in your Sandals Resort package and boasts ample furniture, beverages, as well as smiling Sandals personnel. We could have spent our time in the Club Mobay lounge, but wanted to experience all Sandals had to offer—and they sure do offer a lot.
As we had opted to book a Butler Level Suite, which I always suggest Club Level or higher, we were called to our private BMW black car transfer moments after grabbing a cold beverage. This was a great benefit as we did not have to ride the motor coach with the other guest waiting. After our driver loaded our luggage we were taken on a 15-minute ride from the airport to our beautiful resort. During the drive, the driver informed us about Jamaica, answered our questions, and provided us with impeccable service. A great start to our wonderful experience at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Check in with Sandals as a Butler Level guest was quick and easy. We were greeted with cool, Lemongrass-scented hand towels to refresh us from our travels as our luggage was taken by guest services. Sandals Royal Caribbean is beautiful as it integrates the beautiful open-air lobby fit for a Caribbean Island with gorgeous dark woods and regal European flair. We were instructed to follow to the Club Sandals Lounge where we were presented with cushioned furniture, welcoming staff members, and free beverages. Definitely try their signature punch of the day–as many as you want! They checked us in, confirmed our charge card for added activities (spa services, private candlelight dinners, or excursions), and then sent us to lunch while our butler prepared our suite. As we waited for the final touches in our suite to be completed we dined at Spices with breathtaking views of the Overwater Bungalows, which really are a treat themselves. Once our meal had been completed we toured the resort with our Butler till we made it to our room.
