1981….the year it all began. Sandals Resorts opened for business in Montego Bay. The original hotel, The Bay Roc Hotel, was purchased by Gordon “Butch” Stewart and was transformed into the first true all-inclusive resort just for couples in love!! Located on one of the largest beaches in Jamaica, this seemed to be the perfect place for Mr. Stewart’s dream to begin. In 2018, this resort was completely renovated to bring a more modern look that many all-inclusive resorts look like!! Let’s take a look around to see this beautiful resort!!
As soon as you exit the transfer, you enter the open air lobby of the resort. You can see the gorgeous Caribbean Sea just on the opposite side of the lobby. With bright colors, 3 water features and a dome ceiling, this is the perfect way to enter paradise. All of your worries just fade as you are greeted with a cool, lemongrass scented towel. If you are in a luxury room, you will make your way to the front desk to check in. Whereas, if you are in the Club Level rooms, you will be escorted to the Club Lounge for your priority check in. But if you are in a Butler level room, your Butler will greet you on arrival and escort you directly to your room for your vacation to begin!! A refreshing drink for everyone is the finishing touch for all guests when you arrive!!
When you visit Sandals Montego Bay, you will have 3 room categories to choose from-Luxury Level, Club Level and Butler Level. While all rooms include all food and drinks, watcher sports, land sports, daily & nightly activities and all taxes and gratuities, Club Level and Butler Level offer extra amenities. In Club Level, you also get priority check in and check out, fully stocked in room bar and concierge service, which includes access to the concierge lounge and someone to help with all dining reservations and spa reservations. In the Butler Level, you get not one but two Butlers to pamper you for your entire stay. You receive a cell phone when you arrive at your room that is programmed to dial them directly. Some of the services that your Butler can provide for you include unpacking for you and your loved one, running a bubble bath with aromatherapy, bringing you drinks and food while at the pool or beach, room service, and taking care of your dining reservations (plus they will escort you to dinner). Because they provide you with additional services, you may choose to tip them for a job well done!! One of my favorite rooms at Sandals Montego Bay is the Beachfront One Bedroom Butler Suite with Balcony Tranquility Tub. This room is perfectly situated directly on the beach near the main pool area so you are close to many restaurants and the beach!!
My favorite part of being at an all-inclusive resort is the delicious food. Sandals Montego Bay has 12 dining options and 6 Bars to choose from. With a steakhouse, an Italian restaurant, Asian Wok, a Jerk Shack and many other options, everyone will have options to delight their taste buds. I recommend pizza from Dino’s on the beach and Butch’s Steakhouse for a romantic dinner!! If you enjoy having a fruity adult beverage, I always recommend heading to Latitudes Over the Water Bar for some rum punch. You can also relax in an over the water hammock just over the sides of the bar. Totally relaxing and you can get a little Vitamin D while enjoying your Jamaican Appleton Estate Rum!! During the day, you can be a part of the beach volleyball game or music trivia on the beach!! When you are at Sandals Montego Bay, you can also participate in the nightly activities like Jamaica Live, Beach Party, White Night and the Chocolate Bar!! There is also a silent disco party on select nights that is such great fun!! You can meet new people and dance the night away!!
Also, when staying at Sandals Montego Bay, you also have full exchange privileges with Sandals Royal Caribbean just down the street. This will open up 9 more dining options from which to choose!!!
If you and the one you love enjoy water sports and land sports, then you both will love Sandals Montego Bay. All of the sports are included in the price of your room!! These sports include tennis, bocce ball, corn hole, lawn chess, snorkeling, kayaking, Hobie Cats, wakeboarding, and so many other options. If you are a certified scuba diver, guess what?? You can go on 2 scuba dives per day if you wish!! It’s also included in the price of your room!! Not certified but wish to get certified?? No problem!! Sandals Montego Bay has a basic certification course (for an additional fee) that will allow you to go shallow scuba dives while on the resort!! Not a big fan of getting in the ocean, there is something for you too!! You can go on the Glass Bottom Boat to see all of the great underwater life around Jamaica!! All of the great activities make it the perfect resort for everyone!!!
Sandals Montego Bay is a true picture perfect paradise. The white sand beach, the short drive from the airport, the delicious food options and plentiful activities make this the best resort to visit!!
