Let’s paint a picture with some words: white sand beach-calm, clear water-towering mountains-vibrant flowers and greenery. St. Lucia, located in the Eastern Caribbean!! Also known as the “Hawaii of the Caribbean”, I can personally say this picture is true: tall mountains with winding roads and the most beautiful flora you will see in the Caribbean.
Sandals Grande St. Lucian, located on a peninsula in the area of Castries, is in the perfect spot to see the Atlantic Ocean on one side of the resort and Rodney Bay of the Caribbean Sea on the other. With 311 rooms and suites, you can have your choice of tropical garden views, pool views, ocean views or beach views. A private crystal lagoon is situated between two buildings with luxurious Club Level swim up suites. Sandals Grande St Lucian also has the island’s only Over the Water Bungalows, with plenty of privacy, these bungalows are the perfect place for pure pampering!! 24 hour Butler Service is standard for the duration of your stay plus you have the privacy of your own lounge chairs, over water hammock, outdoor shower, and private airport transfers!! One of my favorite rooms is the Grande Rondoval Butler Suite, with your own private plunge pool and tons of privacy within the beautiful gardens. And just a short walk from your doorstep to the beach and all of the dining options. Believe it or not, your suite includes a fully stocked bar with your favorite beverages and around the clock room service.
When you are heading to an all-inclusive resort, what is the first thing you think about?? If you are like me, then your answer would be “THE FOOD”!! Sandals Grande St. Lucian has 12 dining options to delight your palate. My favorites are Kimono’s (Japanese Hibachi), Toscanini’s Restaurant (Italian), and the Jerk Shack (Jerk chicken and pork). The chicken and fried rice at Kimono’s, the jerk chicken plate at the Jerk Shack, and caesar salad and gnocchi at Toscanini’s were absolutely delicious!!! Other dining locations offer seafood options, an Indian option, and a special over the water dining experience called Gordon’s on the Pier, which is an exclusive restaurant that does require reservations. Kimono’s and Bombay Club also require reservations due to the restaurants having limited seating. One more exciting tidbit about dining is if it is lobster season, you can order it without any upcharge!! It is ALL included!! What goes well with the food?? Wine and drinks of course!! All Sandals properties have a variety of the Robert Mondavi wines that can be ordered at dinner as well as stocked in your room. Also, all premium liquors are included in your room price as well. With 7 bars to choose from, you will not go thirsty and the premium liquors are all included!!
Want something to do after dinner? How about listening to a fabulously talented piano player in the open air lobby? Or how about celebrating the island with a Water & Fire show called St. Lucia We Love?? If you love reggae music, check out Reggae night on Sundays. And if a big Beach Party is your thing, make sure to head to the beach on Wednesday and Saturday to dance the night away with a party like you have never seen!!
