Royal Caribbean's Wonderland

Royal Caribbean's Wonderland Placesetting

Aboard several ships of Royal Caribbean's fleet there is a unique restaurant named "Wonderland", which is so properly named.  Royal Caribbean's Wonderland is a culinary experience that teases the senses and will have the guest in amazement throughout the evening.  During my recent sailing on Quantum of the Seas, two of my family members joined me on this intriguing adventure.Royal Caribbean's Wonderland Menu
Upon arriving at our table, we were presented a blank canvas with instructions to "paint" the restaurant's menu.  As we "painted" five different categories appeared (Sun, Ice, Fire, Earth, and Sea).  Even though there are several options to choose from, however the chef only wanted our entree preference, the remaining courses were selected by the chef to enhance our selection.   We chose the short rib from the "Earth" section along with the halibut and branzino from the "Sea" section.  The waiter also added the pork belly to our requests.
The culinary surprises began!  During the appetizers course we were presented with the reconstructed caprese (the liquid "olives" burst in my mouth), tomato water (we are still in awe), crab cones (with avocado mousse, wow), and the potted shrimp (the foam was delicious!).  As we were questioning how the tomato water could be a clear liquid and also taste like our grandmother's homemade spaghetti sauce along came the liquid lobster (topped with caviar), the bird's nest presentation with smoke, then the citrus seas (with lime sorbet) as a refreshing finish.
As we finished the appetizers the main course was presented.  The pork, halibut and branzino were cooked to perfection with the sauces and accompaniments enhancing each dish.  However, it was agreed the short rib was hands down the best entree, it had an amazing flavor and was cooked to perfection.
Onto our favorite course (dessert!), there were no disappointments!  The Forbidden Apple and The Mushroom Garden were delicious, however The World was the winner (especially for chocolate lovers).  The World is a chocolate ball filled with ice cream and moose, when it is presented at your table the waiter will pour a warm caramel sauce over the ball that melts the outer layer, displaying the deliciousness waiting inside.
I highly recommend trying Royal Caribbean's Wonderland even for those that are not very adventurous, from the decor to the playfulness the restaurant Wonderland guests will remember and "wonder" how for years to come.
