There has been so much excitement this summer with the return of cruising and I was fortunate enough to experience my first time cruising aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas! As a first time cruiser, I soaked in all of the amenities that a cruise has to offer.
My Stateroom
As a first time cruiser I was absolutely in love with my balcony stateroom! The room was quite spacious with a large closet, seating area with couch and a full sized balcony. A perk of this bed is that it can be separated into twin sized beds if needed and still have plenty of room. I loved being able to sit on my balcony in the mornings and enjoy a cup of coffee before I got started on my daily adventures!
Perfect Day. Coco Cay: Floating Cabana Rental
My sailing out of Miami included a stop at Royal Caribbean’s Coco Cay and it was amazing! Coco Cay has a variety of complimentary activities and amenities, but also has some additional options that you can book with your package. I was able to enjoy the floating cabanas at Coco Beach Club for the day and it was the highlight of my cruise. I was able to soak up the gorgeous sea view whole our own dedicated butler took care of all of our needs; including all you can eat from their extensive menu. We’re talking lobster tail, filet mignon, prawns and so much more… the food was delicious!
Workouts While Sailing
If you’re like me, I try to get in at least a few workouts while I’m traveling. The fitness center a board Freedom of the Seas was the nicest and most extensive gym that I have seen in all of my travels; and definitely had the best views. There was a wide variety of free weights, cardio machines and weight machines. A perk of their fitness center was that they also had dedicated hours for vaccinated guests and you did not have to worry about wearing your mask.
My Experience
As a first time cruiser, I had absolutely no idea what to expect and wasn’t even sure if cruising would be something that I would enjoy. I had the best experience aboard Freedom of the Seas and simply cannot wait to sail again. Cruising is such an awesome way to see a variety of destinations and has so much to offer every member of your family!
