Caribbean Beach Resort was the Walt Disney World’s first moderate resort which opened in 1998. It is considered an Epcot resort meaning it is in close proximity to that theme park. The resort consists of two dozen very colorful and island themed buildings that really make you feel as though you have been transported directly into the Caribbean. The resort is in a large circle with a lake in the middle, and along the water side are small man made beaches with hammocks where you can enjoy the island vibes! The buildings are separated into five areas named for Caribbean islands: Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, and Trinidad.
The moderate resort rooms are a little larger than the value resorts but one feature they have that sets them apart is the option for a 5th person sleeper room. Not everyone room has this but it is a category that can be selected. The 5th person sleeper is a great option for families of 5! These rooms have two queen beds and a single pull down sleeper. From personal experience the sleeper is comfy! I’m a smaller sized adult and I can sleep on it comfortably and it is safe! Another category of room that is offered here is the Pirate themed room! Do you have a little buccaneer in your travel party? This may be an option for them! The room is transformed with pirate beds and barrels you would see possibly while riding “The Pirates if the Caribbean.”
Moderate resorts also have a table service dining option at their location. “Sebastian’s” is a lovely island/seafood themed cuisine restaurant. This does require a dining reservation. Not only is there a sit down option but there is a quick service location that has an array of options for all different type of appetites.
One of the biggest draws to this resort other than the amazing things we already discussed is the addition of the Skyliner! This highway in the sky is another transportation option to allow guests to get around to theme parks or other resorts. The Skyliner connects the Caribbean Beach resort to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. It also connects to the Riviera resort, Pop Century and Art of Animation. This is a great benefit especially during busier times when transportation takes a bit longer. Be sure to consider staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort for your next Disney vacation!
