Resort Activities at Walt Disney World

Do you have plans to visit Walt Disney World and built in a rest day between a few park days? If not, I highly recommend it! Not only to give yourself a day to reset from all of the theme park fun, but because all of the resorts have so many activities to take advantage of! Most are at no cost, and a few with a low cost. Let’s find out what exciting activities are available at some of those resorts!

Some Disney Resorts, like Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, offer yoga for families and even for those that are accustomed to yoga. The family version is called Story Time Yoga and it is available at six different resorts. Disney Fit Yoga is more for the seasoned yoga attendees. Here you will find traditional yoga put to Disney music! What a way to start the day!

For those looking for something a little different on the activities list, head to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Here guests will find archery! This is instructed by a Disney Cast Member, so don’t fret if you are new to the archery game.

Also on the list of outdoor resort activities is fishing excursions. There are eight different Disney Resort hotels that offer fishing excursions from their property. All fishing is catch-and-release only. The excursions can be 2 or 4-hour long with boats accommodating 3 or 5 guests. You can also fish dockside from two resorts by renting gear.

If the evening begins, most Disney resorts offer fun, and free, Movies Under the Stars! Disney Classics are played on a blow-up movie screen, so grab your blanket or towel and find the location on your My Disney Experience app.

Every once in a while, a surprise friend will drop by some resorts. When they do have an unexpected visit, they are usually found in the resort lobby or sometimes by the pool. Keep your eyes peeled when walking the resort for those unplanned magical moments.

If you’re looking for something a little more structured, quite a few resorts offer arts and crafts. These are all scheduled resort activities, but some are for a fee and some are at no cost. Around the resorts I have seen tie-dye, button making, and even mosaic art.

Did you know that Disney Cast Members are cultural representatives based on where they are from? Visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge can immerse you in African culture without leaving Florida. Guests can experience stories, music, and traditions from these cultural representatives.

All of these resort activities and more are available for guests to experience. Some require, or recommend, reservations while others are scheduled on a regular basis. Be sure to reach out to your Marvelous Mouse Travels agent to plan an adventure of a lifetime and include some of these amazing activities around the resorts!
