Port Orleans French Quarter has reopened its doors on October 28th. This resort opening was one of the last since the unfortunate shut downs of 2020. But cast members are back to checking in guests with smiles ready to enjoy the magic.
Port Orleans is a moderate resort, but on the smaller more quaint side. This resort is themed after the well known Mardi Gras celebration in Louisiana. The buildings are French colonial styled architecture with bright colors and uniquely shaped roofs and banisters. These buildings are to mimic the creole cottages you will find along the well known streets such as Bourbon Street.
The resort‘s quick service location, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, has multiple options of food ranging from American cuisine to Cajun and Creole and cuisine. There is also a lounge area, Scat Cat’s Club where cocktails and adult beverages are served. And Mardi Grogs is the last location where drinks and bar service snacks can be found. This is located out near the pool.
Let’s talk about the pool! This pool is very large with a sea monster that weaves in and out of the water and even has a water slide! What about smaller children? Don’t worry there is a fun interactive splash pad as well!
Looking for something other than a pool? There are horse drawn carriage rides and bicycles that can be rented at Port Orleans Riverside. These resorts are connected by a scenic walking trail and guests can enjoy amenities at both resorts! Over at Riverside there is a quick service location as well as a table service dining location, Boatwright’s, that has a Cajun style menu.
Another amazing feature is the boats! There are boats that run between the Port Orleans resorts, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs. This is a fun and relaxing way to get to these other locations!
