Pixar Fest Foodie Guide

A new and exciting Foodie Guide is here! For Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resorts will be dishing up some bright and colorful dishes beginning April 26, 2024. Pixar Fest will continue through August 4, 2024 which means there is still plenty of time to book your next Disneyland vacation and experience all of the Pixar Fest fun!

The parade, “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration” and nighttime spectacular “Together Forever - Nighttime Spectacular” will also be shown in the parks.

The new Pixar Fest Foodie Guide has a ton of new offerings and some returning, but still absolutely amazing and exciting! First up at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe will have a new Sea Monsters Friends Parfait. This delightful option is designed after the film Luca. Another film inspiration is Adventure is Out There! Sundae. Can you guess which film that is from? “Up” is the film if you were not sure and the sundae will be found at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Cream.

Also making an appearance for the Pixar Fest is the Slinky Dog Sipper.   Check out this fun video featuring the sipper on Disney Parks' TikTok account.

If you’re looking for a special treat, the dessert party is the way to go! The Pixar Pals Dessert Party offers reserved seating for the parade and fabulous desserts while you wait.

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are partaking in the festivities. At Disneyland Park guests will find some amazing food options! At Alien Pizza Planet there will be four special menu items; Cosmic Chili Pasta, Cheeseburger Pizza Slice, Alien Macarooooon, and a Green Drink. I had the Halloween version of the Alien Macarooooon, and it is delicious! The Green Drink is made of pineapple juice, ginger beer, Lemon-Lime Powerade, and lemon sorbet. The beverage also has lychee popping pearls on top! The Cosmic Chili Pasta, which is new this year, is made of jalapeno-cheddar pinwheel pasta, and layers of chili, crushed corn chips, and a little razzle dazzle of green onions.

Continuing through the park, Cafe Orleans will feature an Earth Pass Cake that was designed in reference to “Soul.” The base is made of  Brittany dough, then topped with lemon cream cheese mousse and a mango-passion fruit compote layer. It is covered with blue and green vanilla flavored sauce and some fun chocolate candies.

A fan favorite location for special treats is Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. A new sweet option and savory option will be available during Pixar Fest. A sandwich called “Silenzio Bruno” will begin April 26, 2024.With layers of ham, provolone, pepperoni, salami, and the toppings for a sandwich will be a great lunch option! The sweet offering is designed after the film “Luca” and will be called a Sea Monster Friends Parfait. The layers of graham cracker crust, mascarpone cheesecake, and the final layer of berry blue gelatin are topped with a white chocolate Luca decoration.

Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante will also be offering two new menu items, one sweet and one savory, and both inspired by the film “Coco.”  They make the perfect meal paired together. The Rivera Family Huarache is crafted of a fried huarache base with layers of pollo asado, cabbage, cotija cheese, beans, and pepper, then finally finished with a drizzle of sour cream. For dessert The Marigold Bridge cupcake has a sponge cake base with cinnamon croquantine with cinnamon mousse and a colorful cream cheese frosting. The decorative bridge is made of chocolate and some orange colored chocolate shavings around the edge.

Heading to the Refreshment Center guests will find the BBQ Potato Dog. This “Toy Story” inspired meal is made of a baked potato base and filled with a smoked sausage and BBQ pulled pork. To top it off there is coleslaw, fried onions, and green onions. This sounds absolutely amazing!

The most adorable short “Lava” is the inspiration for this new menu item. At The Tropical Hideaway the Pineapple Coconut Float is a great refreshing treat! The Blue DOLE Pineapple-Coconut juice is topped with DOLE Whip soft serve then topped with a strawberry lava, and a gummy. If you’re looking for another fun new option, look no further than the Stage Door Cafe. “There’s a Snake on my Funnel Cake” is perfect to share, or not. The classic funnel cake is topped with a layer of chocolate-peanut butter pudding and a sprinkle of chocolate cookie crumbs. The final piece is a candy snake.

Troubadour Tavern not only has 8 new items, but there is surely something for everyone on the menu. The kiddos will love the Joyful Tenders and Mac that is inspired by the colorful movie “Inside Out.” Continuing on with the super fun newer films, “Elemental” has inspired a Firetown Mac & Cheese Bites. These fried gouda mac and cheese bites are tossed in a four-chile rub for those that enjoy the spicy foods. The next two are versions of baked potatoes that I have not seen before. The Una Papa Loca! Is stuffed with chicken al pastor (spicy seasoning), cheese, avocado salsa, and a sour cream drizzle. This version is inspired by none other, “Coco.” The next version is inspired by the film “Toy Story.” This potato is stuffed with brisket burnt ends that have been coated with a Coca-Cola BBQ sauce, then topped with creamy slaw, a pickle spear, and two crunchy onion flavored snacks.

The sweet side of the menu at Troubadour Tavern will take sweets to the next level. A popcorn, Mixed Emotions Popcorn, that is super colorful and sweet. Inspired by “Inside Out” the popcorn is pink in color and flavored like Ube. In the mix it includes M&M’s, freeze dried Skittles, and pretzel sticks. The perfect mixture of sweet and salty. For beverage options there are two. A dark chocolate cold brew that has a butterscotch topper, confetti quins, and a wafer cookie. This cold brew is inspired by the film “UP” and is named Adventure is Out There! Cold Brew. The next brightly colored beverage is a strawberry-lemonade that has a sweet cream on top with a frozen Outshine Strawberry Fruit Bar.

The final menu I want to touch on at Disneyland Park is a fan favorite, Churros! Near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster is a Churro Cart that will have a fun Blackberry Churro that has a blackberry sugar coating and a strawberry-banana dipping sauce! WIth the location of the cart, it gives away the movie that inspired the snack, “Toy Story.”

Heading over to the second park at Disneyland Resorts, Disney California Adventure, there are so many more fabulous offerings. The first can feed yourself, or your entire family. At Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, the Birria Pizza will be featured. Mozzarella cheese, and a sprinkle of onions, cilantro, tomatillo salsa, radishes, and finally a tasty birria. Can you guess which movie inspired this item?

The Cozy Cone Motels are always full of great options, and on April 26th there will be even more! Cozy Cone Motel 1 will have a new churro, Junkyard Jamboree Churro is rolled in a chocolate-espresso sugar, topped with candy “parts”  and served with a chocolate engine oil dipping sauce. Cozy Cone Motel 3 will have a new cone on the menu. The Chili Cone Queso is stuffed with cheese tortellini that has a swirl of pomodoro sauce and mozzarella, then finally topped with a basil panko crumb. This cone is named the Luigi and Guido Cone. The cones at Cozy Cone Motel 3 are served in bread cones and are super filling!

For the guests with the sweet tooth, Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream will have a delicious “Up” inspired sundae. Served inside a chocolate dipped waffle bowl, scooped vanilla ice cream and topped with hot fudge sauce, swirls of whipped cream, and candy balloons on top!

Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums, where guests can find the huge chocolate chip cookies, will be offering another “The Incredibles” themed cookie. The Jack-Jack Shortbread Cookie is a shortbread cookie covered in chocolate with a Jack-Jack and Edna Mode chocolate piece in the center.

A favorite location of mine to dine at is Lamplight Lounge. For the Pixar Fest celebration there are two delicious menu options that will be available. A Kol-Nut Puff that looks charred on the outside but is filled with a blue cloud mousse which has been inspired by the new film “Elemental.” The other menu item is a Auga Chile Negro Tostada, also inspired by “Elemental.” This dish is layers of citrus and beet-marinated ahi tuna, an avocado mousse, a fresh mango pico de gallo, Fresno chiles, cilantro, and a charred pepper chili sauce.

If anyone is looking for an entire Mexican inspired menu look no further than Recuerdame at Paradise Garden Grill. All of the items listed here were inspired by “Coco.” Carnitas Wet Burrito, Al Pastor Tacos, and Huarache are all new to the menu this year. Some returning items are Street-Style Watermelon, a Chile Verde Chicken Flautas, and Street-Style Tacos.

I personally think that this next dessert is the most fun! Shake 2319, inspired by “Monsters, Inc” is such a cute option. The flavors of vanilla, orange, guava, and pineapple are blended together and layered perfectly. The shake is then topped with shaved coconut, whipped topping, and an orange cone. The shake can be found at Schmoozies!

The festival has Marketplace booths similar to the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Each Marketplace represents a different film and offers different types of menus. These booths will be available May 10th.

The first booth is inspired by “Turning Red” and offers 4*Town Fav*4*ites. Items like the Red Panda Bao, Panda Apocalypse, and a Nobody Like U Cooler are all new for the year. The Red Panda Bao is a stuffed bao with pork and vegetables and a chile-garlic sauce. The Panda Apocalypse is a brownie and cheesecake layered dessert that features an orange and red colored cream cheese frosting. The cooler is a sweet and refreshing beverage made from Joffrey’s Raspberry Rose Tea, with a mix of white cranberry, orange, and lime juices along with a cherry syrup. The drink is topped with an orange wedge gummy candy.

The next booth, The Spark, is inspired by “Soul.” While most of the menu consists of beverage options, there are a few food options as well. A Supper Club Chicken & Potato Waffles has a peach cobbler sauce and topped with a cinnamon-herb crumble. The second option is a sweet one, a Half Note Jazz Cake is a red velvet cake that is decorated with keys of a piano.

Gusteau is known as a fabulous chef, and Gusteau’s To-Go at Pixar Fest is nothing short of amazing. The “Ratatouille” inspired Marketplace is dishing up Ratatouille Pizzette that contains eggplant, squash, zucchini, and mozzarella. To top off the pizzette, there is a swirl of tomato sauce and a wedge of French camembert. A new macaron will also be on the menu, Gusteau Macaron is filled with creme brulee mousse that contains a caramel center. The top layer features a photo of Gusteau himself.

“Luca” is the next film to inspire a Marketplace. Portorosso Pasta inspired by “Luca” features a ribbon pasta that is tossed with a basil pesto sauce and contains potatoes and green beans. A Sea Monster Lemonade sounds a little frightening, but it looks delicious! This lemonade contains white grape juice and a peach syrup that is topped with a serving of citrus mango jellies.

They say water and fire do not mix, but Elemental Table inspired by “Elemental” shows differently. The Smoked Fire Wood is a BBQ-spiced IMPOSSIBLE Chicken dish that contains a hot mustard sauce, pickles, and charred onions. There are two drinks that seem to represent fire and water, H2O-Rita (fruity and blue with blue rock candy stick) and Exothermic Margarita (spicy and orange with an orange rock candy stick). Which would you choose?

To end on a sweet note, the new churros that will be making an appearance seem perfect! The Multicolored Churro is the classic churro with a colorful sugar coating twist. There is then a white cherry drizzle sauce placed on top which looks like a super familiar character from “Monsters, Inc.”. The next is a Potato Head Chip Churro, the perfect mix of sweet and salty with inspiration from “Toy Story.”  The classic churro has pieces of crushed potato chips on top and a chocolate drizzle.
