Marvelous Mouse Travels was recently invited to attend a special event - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Fan Meet Up. We were so appreciative to have been invited by Universal Orlando to attend this private event. Because this was an exclusive event with very few people in Hogsmeade, there were no crowds and plenty of wide open spaces. So it got me thinking! There really are so many great photo opportunities in Hogsmeade hiding in plain sight.
Let’s explore some options based on location!
Three Broomsticks- Grab a butterbeer and say cheers! Standing by one of the fireplaces is a great spot.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey- Of course, you’ll want a picture in front of Hogwarts Castle, but while you’re waiting in line be sure to have your camera ready. Pose in front of Professor Dumbledore with your wand in hand or position yourself right in front of the Sorting Hat!
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure- Step just beyond the grounds of Hogwarts Castle into ruins behind Hagrid’s hut. In this queue, you’ll have photo opportunities both inside and outside, so be ready at every turn. While inside you’ll find a wall of dragon eggs and Hagrid’s workshop, both are great places to strike a pose.
Hogwarts Express- It’s hard to miss this engine near the entrance of Hogsmeade. This is an iconic place to take a quick picture.
***Pro Tip! If you are in Hogsmeade on a crowded day, wait until you have a small window with only a few people in frame. Use the live photo setting on your phone to be able to select the best shot with no people!
