In just a few short weeks, Disneyland will have a new quick service restaurant! The official opening of Tiana’s Palace is set to welcome guests for delicious meals on September 7, 2023. This new location is meant to bring people together for fun, laughs, and food, just like in her film, The Princess and the Frog. Tiana is taking over New Orleans Square one year at a time.
In 2022, another Tiana inspired location opened, Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets. Prior to the refurbishment of this location, it was also a small merchandise shop named Le Bat en Rouge. It now offers housewares, apparel, and more.
Prior to the construction of Tiana’s Palace, the location held a different restaurant named French Market Restaurant which opened in February 1966 and permanently closed its doors in February 2023 for the remodel. The menu served similar type items with creole and cajun flavors.
While there is not a menu available for the new quick service restaurant, we do know a few things. The pricing is fabulous, set at $14.99 and under per adult, as stated on the Disneyland App.
The interior of the location was inspired by the film, and guests will notice details all around. From cookbooks to frog statues, there will be items representing “The Princess and the Frog” all throughout. Even the colors of the balcony above represent the colors of Princess Tiana’s dress. The bayou mural on the wall is designed after the film setting as well. Another amazing detail that Disney Imagineers did not miss is the letters from Tiana’s father hanging throughout.
Early we touched on the previous location, French Market Restaurant. Did you know that the design of the French Market Restaurant was also the inspiration for Tiana’s Palace in the film? It really has come full circle for this location. Also returning is the Mint Julep Bar, which I have heard some guests say they are waiting for!
Disney Destinations noted that some ingredients will be sourced directly from Louisiana when possible, which is fantastic! They also said that the new menu will be released soon, be on the lookout for that!
Tiana’s next adventure is set to open in 2024, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The date has not been confirmed as to when the newest attraction will open, but there has been headway on the construction.
