As Summer approaches rather quickly, there are so many things to be excited about! The first is the brand new adventure that you are about to embark on! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure that is! We officially have an opening date of June 28, 2024 for Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom attraction. We also have some news on what to expect before you arrive at the parks for the big Mardi Gras Celebration that Tiana is planning down in the Bayou!
Over the past few years, the lanes to gain access to the attractions have changed. It has been announced how guests will be able to gain access to the brand new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, get those fingers ready! There will be two ways to attend, the virtual queue and the Disney Genie+ Service. Both options can be completed on your My Disney Experience app, be sure to have the app downloaded and your account created prior to arriving at the resorts.

The virtual queue request option is free to guests to join, but the allotted openings fill very quickly. There are two times that the virtual queue will open for the ride each day, 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. If you are able to secure a return time with a virtual queue, an alert will be sent to your My Disney Experience app when it is your time to return to the attraction.
The second way to access the attraction is by the Disney Genie+ Service. Each morning prior to arriving at the parks, guests have the opportunity to purchase Disney Genie+ for each member of their party. With the purchase of this service, you will also have the opportunity to access Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. At 7 a.m. the Lightning Lane service opens and guests are able to begin scheduling/planning a return pass for attractions for once the parks open and the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be on that list of attractions! The Disney Genie+ Service also only has allotted spots open for each attraction, and will likely fill up quickly for the new adventure!
Disney Destinations mentioned with the release that they expect a stand-by line available not long after the opening of the attraction on June 28, but not during the initial opening of the attraction.
Just like with the previous attraction, Splash Mountain, there will be a fun photo to commemorate the attraction, and if you utilized the Disney Genie+ Service or Memory Maker your photo will be available for download in your My Disney Experience app. Speaking of fun, the 50 foot drop is still there and you may want to prepare yourself to get wet! Ponchos are on my suggested packing list when visiting the parks, but if you happened to forget one there are plenty of places inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom to purchase one.
As with most exciting openings, comes apparel and merchandise! When the attraction debuts, there will be merchandise for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure available at the Emporium inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The Emporium is located down the side of Main Street U.S.A.. Shortly after the opening, the merchandise will move over to Critter Co-Op in Adventureland, just outside of the attraction.
The final new and exciting information is the new beignets that will be available for purchase for a limited time in the park. At two locations, Golden Oak Outpost and The Friar’s Nook, these sweet and flavorful beignets will likely draw a crowd. Disney Destinations states that they are light, fluffy, and drizzled with honey and powdered sugar. There is not a set time on how long they will be available in the parks, so be sure to take the opportunity while it presents itself.
The grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is just around the corner, but there is still time to plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World and experience this fun and critter-filled adventure. Marvelous Mouse Travels is here to help, reach out today!
