As darkness draws near, the villains come to life. At least at Disneyland's famous Halloween event they do. Oogie Boogie Bash has been set to return for 2023, and recently the dates of the party have been released! While I do love summer, fall holds a special place in my heart because of Halloween and all of the spectacular events that come with it. Beginning September 1, 2023 and running on select evenings through November 1, 2023 guests will be able to enjoy all of the villainous fun!
In the parks there are so many different things to experience during the special ticketed, select date event. The guests that participate in the special event have access to limited time only treats, merchandise, and rare characters roaming the parks!
Not only are the parks decorated for the Halloween fun, but so are some of the attractions! The Haunted Mansion attraction is transformed into The Nightmare Before Christmas for the season. Each year there is an amazingly crafted gingerbread house that is displayed inside the attraction's ballroom. However, we do not have word on the theme of gingerbread house for this year. Also transformed each fall is Cars Land, which turns into Radiator Screams! Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! also becomes a spookier version of itself as Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark.
The parks are also decked out with Mickey shaped pumpkins and fall leaves. There is always magic in the parks, but especially during seasonal events. If you head into Downtown Disney for some shopping and dining, you will see carefully decorated and slightly hidden pumpkins that resemble characters for this year's Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. When you purchase this fun scavenger hunt, you receive a special prize when you find all of the pumpkins.
Don’t forget to trick or treat during the Oogie Boogie Bash! Guests of all ages are invited to trick or treat using the treat trails throughout the park. Be sure to grab a map to see where each station is located along with the special times of the events.
During the event, limited time offered Oogie Boogie Bash merchandise, such as pins, shirts, spirit jerseys, and more are available for purchase. Special treats available for purchase are also throughout the park, these can be found on the event map. Currently, in the evenings guests have a chance to view “Wondrous Journey,” the night time projection show on Sleeping Beauty Castle. The last viewing of “Wondrous Journey” will be on August 31, 2023. But fear not, it is to make way for the “Halloween Screams”, another amazing projection show for guests to enjoy.
