Nestled on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, Oil Nut Bay offers something increasingly rare in luxury travel: privacy, space, personalized service, and a true sense of exclusivity without sacrificing comfort or amenities.
Part of what makes Oil Nut Bay so unique is that getting there feels like part of the experience. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, guests are greeted at a private dock and whisked directly to their private villas via golf cart. The moment you arrive, the pace shifts. There are no crowds, no busy lobbies, and no rushing from place to place, just stunning ocean views and a warm Caribbean welcome.
The property has invested heavily in elevating the guest experience, with complimentary airport transfers, boat transportation, breakfast, and nightly turndown service all included. Rather than charging extra for every detail, the philosophy is to create a seamless luxury experience from arrival to departure.
Oil Nut Bay is not a traditional resort. Instead, it is a luxury villa community comprising privately owned residences and resort accommodations, which can be rented out by the general public. They offer everything from one to seven-bedroom villas. All villas come with at least one golf cart for your use during your stay.
During my visit, I had the opportunity to tour several of the resort's most impressive homes, each offering a completely different experience.

The Beach Club serves as the social heart of the community, offering beachfront dining, water activities, pools, and access to the crystal clear waters that make the British Virgin Islands famous.

The resort also features tennis courts, pickleball, a nature center (with several rescued animals!), and a growing lineup of family-friendly programming.

Throughout our stay, we enjoyed private yoga and sound bath sessions overlooking the ocean, relaxing afternoons at the beach, and even a private sunset cruise through the surrounding islands.
Dining at Oil Nut Bay goes far beyond traditional resort fare. One of the highlights of our stay was a private family-style lunch at Nova, where fresh island flavors and warm hospitality were on full display. Even more memorable was an intimate beachside dinner featuring sushi, tomahawk steaks, freshly caught red snapper, expertly paired wines, and impeccable service.
