From the moment you board Norwegian’s new ship, Encore, you will be amazed at all of the onboard activities available for both kids and adults! There is truly something for every age. From Broadway shows to a Virtual Reality arcade to a Speedway (YES…you can actually race Go-Karts on board!), you will never run out of things to do during your cruise!
During the daytime & nighttime, you’ll always find something fun to experience. Lots of activities will take place in the atrium and the viewing area up one deck at The Local. You’ll find trivia, games, music, dancing and more! We experienced fun shows like The Newlywed Game, Emoji Trivia and live music at night. Stop by The Atrium Bar or Starbucks, grab your favorite beverage and find a comfy spot to relax while enjoying some entertainment.
One of the most popular daytime activities is the Encore Speedway, where you can race your friends around a go-kart race track on Deck 17. Complete with views of the ocean as you round each corner at top speed! There is an area where spectators can shoot you with laser guns to give you boosts of speed. You will also find an Atlantis themed Laser Tag on this deck as well. There are 2 Escape Rooms and a Virtual Reality arcade, Galaxy Pavilion, that offers 10,000 square feet of VR gaming. There is an extra fee for these activities and it is totally worth it!
The pools are always a great spot to hang when cruising! The Encore is no exception. You’ll find 2 pools and a kids splash area on Deck 16. There is a pool with a big screen TV and a second pool near the kids' Aqua Park. The Aqua Park has a dunk bucket water slide and a fun play area. You’ll find 2 bars located near each of the pools so you don’t have to go far to grab your favorite cocktail! In the Vibe Beach Club (extra fee) you’ll find comfy sun loungers, two hot tubs and you‘ll have a bar and waiters. It’s the perfect adult only area to relax and enjoy your day in the sun. Deck 17 is where the entrance to 2 waterslides, Ocean Loops and Aqua Race, is located. Ocean Loops is only for the brave and is a drop water slide with loops that are see through and extend over the ocean!
If fitness is your thing, there is a fitness center on Deck 16 with lots of equipment to provide you with a great workout. This might be necessary if you enjoy multiple desserts at night like we did! The fitness center is free to use, however classes will have an extra fee. There is also a jogging track on Deck 17. Near the fitness center is Mandara Spa. I experienced an Aroma Hot Stone Massage while on board and it might be one of my
favorite experiences! There is a Thermal Spa Area that has a hot tub, therapy pool, heated loungers, and Salt, Snow & Sauna rooms.
Norwegian Encore is family friendly and their kids clubs are no exception! Splash Academy is divided into 3 age groups Turtles (3-5) Seals (6-9 and Dolphins (10-12)- and is full of age appropriate activities and games. Encore also has a Guppies area for children 6 months to 3 years. Parents must stay with their children in the Guppies area.
This ship is definitely geared towards teens (13-17) as well! On Deck 5 you’ll find the Entourage Teen Club. This is sure to keep your teenagers busy with activities, dance parties and video games.
At night, you’ll always find something fun to do with your family or friends. The Broadway shows Kinky Boots and Choir of Man are not to be missed! You’ll also find live music & dancing, karaoke, comedy shows and even a show themed after the Beatles! Don’t forget about the casino with slot machines and gaming tables.
The beautiful Encore very quickly became my favorite ship and I cannot wait to sail again! What did I enjoy the most? Sugarcane’s Mojito Bar (You MUST try the Cocoa Mojito!), The Waterfront area (think outdoors, sectional shaped sofas, comfy chairs with views of the ocean!) and the Observation Lounge on Deck 15. I somehow ended up at these relaxing areas with my Cocoa Mojito in hand many times throughout my 7 days on The Encore.
