Celebrity Cruise Line is known for merging luxury, upscale cruising with a fun, laidback and modern vibe. This statement is true for the ship's aesthetic, dining experience and nightlife! The nightlife features a wide range of entertainment including shows on the main stage featuring modern technology and aerial dancers to musical performances that will leave you in awe!
If you are a seasoned cruiser, you will still be able to enjoy all of your favorites such as comedians, live bands, non-smoking casino and main stage shows.
Fun Fact: The casinos onboard Celebrity Cruise Line are and have always been non-smoking.
If you would miss acoustic sets, piano bars or a late night clubbing experience, the Celebrity Ascent nightlife might not be for you. Additionally, if you are traveling with kids, the nightlife does not cater to families.
Let’s dive into the nightlife! The three main venues for nightlife included: The Theater, The Club and Eden.
Pro Tip: Download the Celebrity Cruise app prior to your cruise. You will be able to see the list of all entertainment offerings noted below in your app as well as the venue location and show time.
The Theater features rotating nightly shows which utilize advanced technology, LED screens and a variety of shows including musical and aerial acrobatics. Notably, we saw “Residency” which highlights some of the greatest musical acts who have all had a residency in Las Vegas. The singers were incredible! “Awaken” is a captivating experience that awakens your senses through a series of dreams. It was the most unique show I have seen on a cruise! The aerial acrobatics was my favorite feature of this show. We were not able to see “Bridges” but based on the incredible talent showcased in the two shows we did see, I would imagine it is also worth the watch!
The Club is a smaller scale than The Theater which is great for holding day time entertainment activities such as trivia but at night turns into a high-energy entertainment venue home to some of the most popular nightlife experiences. These experiences can include magicians, comedians, 80’s Flashback, ABBA Sing-Along, Silent Discos, DJ’s and additional acrobatic style shows.
Eden is a gorgeous venue in the aft of the ship featuring a quieter earthy vibe. You can grab drinks here and listen to live music or view smaller, more intimate versions of the main theater shows. Specifically, we saw “Allure” featuring a sultry vibe and acrobatics.
Pro Tip: Because Eden and The Club are small venues please make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes early to get a seat for the show.
However, the nightlife scene does not end here. For example, the martini bar located in the main atrium of the ship, features a nighttime show with the bartenders that is not to miss! They build a martini glass tower to fill all within one pour! It is the perfect mix of fun and upscale entertainment. The cruisers go wild and the bartenders feed off of the hype!
Additionally if you are looking for a relaxing, outdoor option for drinks, the Sunset bar and Magic Carpet are great locations for ocean views. They offer a romantic ambiance perfect for your date night out but also offer open seating that can accommodate your friend group! The Rooftop Garden is the perfect place for stargazing and watching an open-air movie in the evening as well.
Lastly, the Shine the Night party which is located on the pooldeck is arguably my favorite nightlife experience we had onboard. Our Shine the Night party was rained out but they moved the party indoors to the atrium and we had a blast! The DJ kept everyone hyped, the entertainment staff was dancing with us and they passed out blown up light batons (also known as inflatable glow sticks) for us to wave in the air. There is something about a baton that makes the atmosphere even more fun!
Confidently, I can confirm that there is plenty of nightlife experiences to suit any adult!
