The roar of the water as it crashes down the rocks. The smell of the moss and vegetation along the riverbank. The feel of the spray as it drenches you is it’s cool mist. The breathtaking beauty of Niagara Falls is truly a treat for the senses! It really is a very special place and is often on a person’s “ bucket list “. I can’t believe how close you can get to the rushing water.
As a travel agent with Marvelous Mouse Travels, I book getaways for all ages. Very family friendly, Niagara Falls has something for everyone! This was a Senior Ladies vacation for some very special people. They had a great time! They already have me looking for their next adventure.
On the U.S. side of Niagara Falls, in the State of New York, you have the ability to get extremely close to this majestic wonder at Terrapin Point Horseshoe Falls. Because it is part of the NY State Parks there is no admission fee! All you pay is $10 for all day parking and you are free to enjoy the Park.
The Visitors Center has a wonderful terrace you can enjoy, a snack bar, public restrooms and a gift shop.
The State Park is open after dark and it is also open year round. For a completely different Niagara Falls experience, visit in the winter. The glorious landscape is transformed in the wintertime. Glittering ice, crisp snow and the freezing mist turns this beautiful place into a true Winter Wonderland! Be warned though, it can get very cold so be sure to bundle up. The closer you get to the Falls the colder it gets and the thicker the ice forms; even on the view finders. Spectacular!
