Summer is officially in full swing, but that really means one thing, Fall is approaching very quickly! Fall means something different to everyone. For some it means pumpkin spice everything, to others it means cooler weather and relief of the blistering sun. To me, it means all things SPOOKY! Along with that comes Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, and there have been two more major announcements, a new house and scare zone!
First up is the newly announced haunted house, Insidious: The Further. Insidious, the movie franchise, was first introduced to the world in 2010 with the first horror film. It began with a family seeming to think their new home is haunted and their son, who is in a coma, is being possessed by the entity. There are four other films that followed the original with the last being released in 2023. The house that will be inside Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is described as “don’t get trapped in The Further as terrifying demons try to ensnare you. Enter the Red-Faced Demon’s liar behind The Red Door. And try to keep away from KeyFace so he can’t lock up your spirit.”
The Insidious: The Further house seems to follow the timeline or theme from the final two films; Insidious: The Last Key and Insidious: The Red Door and maybe brings the two together for one horrifying experience. Are you brave enough to enter and face those demons?
The next newly announced experience is a scare zone that will be themed Torture Faire. Universal Halloween Horror Night’s describes this as “come one, come all, to the renaissance faire with the devious theme of medieval torture. Brave the gloriously gory homemade torture devices ‘til you’re put out of your misery.” This is an original scare zone of the event, which means it will be a total surprise as to what is in store. With the mention of homemade torture devices my mind goes to guillotine, what are your thoughts?
