Disney Cruise Line has recently announced some changes to its kids club age policy. While all children under the age of 18 can still join in on the fun, there will be some adjustments as to where they can hang out.
Beginning December 21, 2023, the Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab will only be welcoming guests from ages 3 to 10 years old. Prior to this change the age range was 3 to 12 years old. The younger children, ages 3-4, will have activities geared towards them during their time in Disney’s Oceaneer Club.
Edge, the tween and young teens club will now be open to the age group of 11 and 14 years old. Edge offers movies, video games on large flat-screen tv’s, and creative age appropriate activities. While activities are subject to change, there are quite a few really awesome activities available. That’s Hilarious, is an improv comedy show designed after a Disney Channel Show. Heroes and Villains is a team competition held throughout the ship. A Pirate’s Life for Me is an active trivia game based around pirates. The area is created to have a lounge type atmosphere.
Vibe, the older teens club, is still available for those aged between 14 and 17 years old. This club has a coffee bar, nonalcoholic beverages, and fruit smoothies. It is also designed to be a hangout spot for the older kids, but offers activities to create fun memories and make new friends. There is a Vibe Movie Makers, which teaches the attendees how to make movies, and Gotcha which is a game of elimination.
During open house hours on the ship, children of all ages can experience any of the locations, but during normal operating hours the clubs are strictly for those of the age requirements of the specific area. Each Disney Cruise Line Ship has the same type space for the age ranges, but they are designed and set up differently.
