Are you ready for new faces, new experiences, and new adventures at Walt Disney World? Disney has released a few pieces of HUGE news, all at one time. New and exciting experiences are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a lot to be celebrated for this year! April 22, 2023 will be the 25th year anniversary of the park, and 25 years of the Disney Conservation Fund! The Disney Conservation Fund, along with the support of the amazing Disney guests, has donated over $120 million, which supports many non-profit wildlife organizations. When Disney does a celebration, they leave nothing unthought of. There will be special merchandise, treats, and rare character sightings during the 25th celebration of Disney’s Animal Kingdom! I wonder which characters we will see?
EPCOT has quite a bit of news for 2023! First, it will be the home of the Disney100 Celebration at Walt Disney World. While we are saying goodbye to Harmonious, the fireworks and light show display on World Showcase Lagoon, we are excited to welcome back EPCOT Forever! The new nighttime display will premiere on April 3, 2023, with a new look. The entertainment will showcase the 100 years of Disney films in a whole new way. Another great addition to the Disney100 will be the character meetings with Mickey and Minnie! They will be in their beautiful and shimmering platinum apparel. You can already find some Disney100 merchandise in the parks, but it is limited. Be sure to plan a Walt Disney World vacation with your family, or just by yourself, to experience this amazing new milestone.
For a few months now we have seen bits and pieces of the newest project in EPCOT, The Journey of Water,Inspired by Moana. Just recently, it has been announced that it will begin to welcome guests this fall. It will be a self-guided trail that shows the water cycle process, and the importance of its existence. Some of the architecture has already been placed, as you can see from the monorail, and inside the trail you will find Te Fiti, the island that Moana searches for in the Disney film.
Also inside EPCOT this fall, Mickey Mouse and his pals will receive a new home to give hugs, high-fives, and smiles! CommuniCore Hall has been designed right in the heart of the park, World Celebration. Inside CommuniCore Hall the exhibit will change with the rotation of festivals in the park, International Festival of the Arts, International Flower & Garden Festival, International Food & Wine Festival, and finally, International Festival of the Holidays.
