We’ve recently received the news that Grand Avenue, which was previously known as Muppet Courtyard, will be bidding farewell and closing for guests with the expansion of the park. Grand Avenue is where guests currently experience all things Muppets inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Not only is Muppet*Vision 3D, but also the Muppet themed restaurant, PizzeRizzo, and the Italian restaurant, Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano.
In more recent news, we have an official date of the closing of the beloved location of Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano. The cast will close its doors one final time on May 10, 2025. This will allow for the progress walls to be placed and construction to begin on the new Monsters Inc-themed land.
A final closing date for Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo have also been announced. With just a few extra weeks to enjoy, the final closing phase of Grand Avenue will take place on June 7, 2025. Disney Destinations has stated that there will be a “glorious 5-month finale" so let’s plan your last minute trip to experience the joy of the Muppets one last time! There will still be a Muppet themed experience inside the park, so it is not going away forever. Previously announced, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will also be re-themed to include the Muppet friends!
Many memories were created inside Grand Avenue over the years for guests young and old. However, I believe everything happens for a reason, and we will receive a brand new themed land and roller coaster for guests to enjoy for years to come. While we still have some time to wait before the new area is ready to enjoy, there are so many other areas to explore.
