MSC World America: A European-Inspired Cruise Experience Families Will Love

We were able to tour the brand new MSC World America, and I was absolutely blown away.

MSC World America: A European-Inspired Cruise Experience Families Will Love

The ship was docked right next to Icon of the Seas which is currently the largest cruise ship in the world and to be honest, MSC World America looked the same size! MSC is a cruise line that’s been hugely popular in Europe, they are making their way into the US market and we are so here for it.

From the moment I stepped onboard, everything felt sleek and modern in a way that’s really different from other cruise lines I’ve sailed with in this same family cruising category. The ship has a stylish, almost European vibe (toilets instead of restrooms on the signs, lifts instead of elevators etc), the layout was open and easy to navigate. It felt like they really thought through how guests move around the ship, and the attention to detail stood out everywhere.

Entertainment wise, there is always going to be something happening.

Some nights will have full production shows with acrobats and high-energy dance numbers, while others more low-key with live music and pop-up experiences along the promenade. One night they even have a silent disco.

If you’re traveling with kids, I was SUPER impressed with the family spaces.

There’s a huge kids’ zone with LEGO play areas(so many mini figures!), waterslides, and dedicated programming by age. Teens even had their own cool hangout space that looked more like a lounge than a kids’ club. I can see this being a great ship for multigenerational trips or groups traveling with kids of different ages.

MSC World America offers a huge range of dining options.

Guests can enjoy classic favorites in the main dining rooms, specialty restaurants like Butcher’s Cut steakhouse or Kaito Teppanyaki, and quick eats at buffets and grab-and-go spots (premade sandwiches, wraps, pizza, burgers, fries). The ship also introduces new culinary concepts exclusive to MSC, offering a mix of American-style comfort food and European-inspired dishes. I loved the giant fruit bar up on the top deck and the quick grab and go in the promenade area! They even had a crepe station for an extra charge in the candy shop.

So, would I sail MSC? Absolutely.

If you’ve only sailed with the major U.S. lines, MSC feels like a fresh new alternative and the pricing is really really good! If you're curious whether this ship, or MSC in general is the right fit for your next vacation, we would love to help you navigate the options. It really is worth checking out!  Reach out today for your personalized cruise quote.
