Disney has been sharing details of their 50th anniversary celebration piece by piece and this week is all about ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, Disney water parks and runDisney! Like all the other locations these are also decorated in the beautiful  EARidescent color scheme that is being represented throughout the park this year! But what are we most excited about? The amazing treats of course!

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (when it reopens) will be launching some new and very tasty treats :

  • Loaded Nachos with Walt’s Chili – This classic treat is upgraded for the 50th anniversary celebration and features Walt’s favorite chili atop a bed of house fried tortillas, cheese guacamole, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, sour cream and jalapeno.
  • EARidescent Ice Dream Cone – Birthday cake-flavored soft serve ice cream cone served up with EARidescent accents to celebrate 50 years of Walt’s dreams that turned into reality.

Also these parks will have a new version of the 50th anniversary refillable mug! Typhoon Lagoon will be temporarily closed for refurbishment and the dates for when it will be open to the public have not been announced yet.

RunDisney participants will have some amazing views as they take part in the Walt Disney World marathon. This year runners will have the opportunity to run near the parks Beacons of Magic! Not only will the marathon in January have some fun 50th anniversary touches but the Princess marathon in February will as well! The medals for the Princess Marathon will be following along with the theming of the anniversary! If you have ever run a Disney race you know how wonderful and special they make every piece of it. You can only imagine how great it will be to run one during the Most Magical Celebration!
