Celebrating in the parks during the holiday season is the most magical time of the year! Guests come from all over the world to see the larger than life Christmas tree, experience the seasonal event of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and indulge in the treats that come with the season. There has finally been a release of the amazing Mickey's Very Merry Christmas eats and treats available for purchase during the special event. This event is held on select nights throughout the holiday season from November 9 through December 22, 2023.
There are so many great entertainment opportunities available during the special ticketed event. Starting with a spectacular Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, where guests will experience their favorite characters ready for Christmas! Returning for the 2023 season will be the Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show displayed right on Cinderella’s Castle. There are also special meet and greet opportunities available throughout the park. Be sure to check the event map for the times of these special events.
But now we can really get to the good stuff.. the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas eats and treats! Need something to grab and go? A cute Reindeer Chow Sundae, which is a mix of chocolate soft-serve ice cream, mini pretzels, M&M’s, and hot fudge makes the perfect little treat while walking through the park. Have you been put on the naughty list this year? The Lump of Coal in your Stocking could be all you receive this year. Just kidding! It’s a delicious cookies ‘n cream milkshake that is served with a chocolate doughnut hole on top. These two items can be found at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies.
Casey’s Corner, the restaurant with the famous hot dogs, will also have a Candy Cane Tart that is filled with a peppermint ganache and dollops of a red and white meringue.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe has a menu full of food perfect for refueling. A Holiday Pot Roast Melt is a delicious sandwich that is served on toast stuffed with beef, cheddar cheese, provolone cheese, and some beef gravy. The Holiday Turkey Burger sounds just like the name, a turkey burger that is topped with the sides of a traditional meal; stuffing, cheese, and cranberry chutney all piled high on a brioche bun. A little sweet treat is also available at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, a Christmas Cookie Cake which is a Christmas cookie cake roll that has buttercream frosting and a touch of holiday sprinkles.
Over at The Friar’s Nook, one of my favorite places to try the seasonal menus, which has four new items this year. First on the menu is Holiday Ham Fried Pie. It is crafted baked ham,spiced pecans, and candied sweet potatoes all stuffed into a flaky pastry. Next up is the Italian Beef Tots, which you cannot go wrong with. These tots are topped with beef, cheese curds, and a pot roast gravy. To sweeten the deal the menu will offer two new desserts. A Peppermint Snowman is a brownie made into the shape of a snowman with cookies ‘n cream peppermint mousse on top featuring adorable buttons and a red scarf. The second dessert is a Winter MilkShake which is crafted with a creamy coconut ice cream and topped with toasted coconut, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and crispy pearls.
Main Street Bakery is always known for its cute bakery items. On a normal basis there is the offering of Mickey Shaped Cinnamon Roll, but for the holiday season there will be an offering of Minnie-shaped Cinnamon Roll that has a bright red icing and features festive holiday sprinkles and a white chocolate bow. Also offered, only during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, is a Letter to Santa cake. It is a flourless chocolate cake, for our allergy friends, and filled with a hot cocoa mousse and marshmallows. Then topped with a cute chocolate envelope and candy cane.
One of my favorite places to snack during the day to day visit is Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. During the special nighttime event they will be serving up some fabulous treats as well. A Holiday Waffle Sundae that is made with red velvet waffle mix and tipped with a scoop of peppermint ice cream, drizzled with hot fudge, and finally topped with M&M’s. There will also be a Milk and Cookies for Santa which is a cake made of brown sugar cookie cake that is topped with a chocolate chip cookie dough mousse (which sounds fabulous), a milk mousse, and chocolate chip cookies! Yum!
Sunshine Tree Terrace has an adorable Sants’s Belt Buckle offering. Inside is a pistachio mousse that has a dark chocolate truffle middle fully decorated like Santa’s belt with a chocolate buckle piece. Also available will be a wonderful Cranberry Citrus Float with Orange-Vanilla Soft-serve Twist, this perfect holiday flavored treat featured Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry soda.
While there are so many returning treats to choose from, these are most of the new to the park's menu items! You will have to visit and attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to enjoy most of these items, while some are on the daily list as well.
