Disneyland announced a new for the 2024 holiday season character dining experience at The Grand Californian’s Storytellers Cafe. Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch combines delicious food with holiday cheer!
Guests can enjoy a bountiful buffet filled with seasonal favorites while meeting Mickey and friends dressed in their cozy holiday pajamas. This brunch features family-friendly fun, photo opportunities, and a warm, magical atmosphere perfect for celebrating the season. It’s a must-do for creating unforgettable holiday memories.
This special dining experience started November 19, 2024 and will run through January 1, 2025. This year my family was among the first to enjoy this party with Mickey and his friends. For us, the best parts of the meal were the food, characters and atmosphere.
Let’s start with everyone’s favorites, our classic Disney characters! At this meal you will find Chip, Dale, Minnie, Mickey and Pluto! As you dine each character will visit your table, sign autographs, take pictures and interact with you. But what we loved best was how adorable these guys looked in their cozy holiday pajamas. Everyone is dressed in deep red and green flannels with a little Christmas cottage flare!
It was our personal opinion that Chip and Dale were extra adorable in their hooded onesies. And when the characters aren’t visiting with their guests, they have a short dance parade through the restaurant. This was such a great opportunity to see their personalities shine.
As previously mentioned, this dining experience takes place at Story Tellers Cafe in the gorgeous Grand Californian Resort and Spa. If you haven’t ever been to this resort or restaurant before, it is stunning! You are instantly transported to a craftsman inspired lodge that highlights the great outdoors and forests. The architecture along with the cozy woodland inspired pajamas that the characters wear really put you in the holiday spirit! Also, if you decide to join in on the fun go ahead and wear your pajamas too. Mickey and his pals love to see everyone join in on the fun. On our recent visit the majority of guests were wearing their best holiday pajamas and it really helps set the mood. It felt like a big family meal on Christmas morning!
Now this is the part I bet most of you are wanting to know more about. First of all, this is a buffet. So you can get all you can eat of some of the best breakfast and brunch foods. You will find a made to order omelet station, carving station, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, seasoned fries, veggies, pastries and more! My kids were big fans of the Mickey waffles and popcorn shrimp. I’d be willing to bet they ate their weight in each of these items while I made sure to get myself a bountiful serving of bread pudding. Along with your buffet you can get a beverage of your choice. Some of our top picks were juice, soft drinks, coffee and tea. There is a slight difference in breakfast and brunch with the addition of salmon for brunch but the menus are basically identical.
Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch was a first for us since it is all new for 2024 so we weren’t really sure what to expect. For other first timers I do think there are a few key points to keep in mind. First, the cost for this meal is $65 per adult and $35 for each child. It’s a little more expensive than a simple table service meal but for the buffet and character experience, I would say you get a good value. Also, consider the time you have when booking this experience. We chose to dine here on a day we weren’t visiting the parks. I’d recommend this to anyone else as well as the dining experience should take 1-2 hours if you really want to experience all of the characters and really enjoy the buffet options. If you will be in the parks and want to enjoy Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party Breakfast and Brunch I would suggest doing so on your Disney California Adventure Park day since the resort has a private entrance to this park and you can hop in and out easily. If sitting down and having a leisurely meal isn’t your thing, then maybe skip out on this one. If you want to slow down, enjoy some time with your family, wear festive pajamas and interact with classic characters (wearing special outfits you won’t see elsewhere), then I say try to snag these reservations ASAP! I know we would love to go back again!
