As April comes to an end, and the month of May draws near, there is one thing that many Star Wars fans look forward to, May the 4th! “May the 4th Be With You” started as a fun day in reference to the popular saying from the movie franchise “May the force be with you.” But it has become so much more to the Star Wars fanbase. This day is celebrated, and usually a full, with no availability, park pass reservation day to Hollywood Studios and Disneyland where the Star Wars Galaxy Edge park attractions are located.
With all of the Disney celebrations, and even just for one day, there are plenty of amazing new and limited-time snacks offered. May the 4th is no exception for these tasty treats, and the culinary team at Disney goes all out! Both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California have different delicious offerings. No matter which Disney destination your family is visiting, you are sure to find some amazing treats. The availability of all of the food and merchandise all begin on different dates, and have a variety of ranges for availability. Most will only be for purchase during the first few days of May, but some will be available for the entire month!
Disneyland hosts after hours events, Disneyland After Dark, and there is a special event just for Star Wars! The separate ticketed event, Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, is already sold out for all four event nights. Guests attending this event will have the opportunity to purchase the limited release sippers, Grogu and the Light Up! Acid Spitter Orb. Sippers are drink cups that generally have a lanyard to help carry them around the parks, but are designed into special characters or important items from movies.

Also found at Disneyland will be a different version of the Wookie Cookie. The cookie sandwich form can be found at Walt Disney World year round, along with specialty created sugar cookies, lollipops, and even the famous rice crispy treats. All of these items, plus many more, can be found at Grand Californian Hotel Lobby Cart through the end of May.
Are you looking for something a little more energizing, but not sweets? Docking Bay 7 will be offering two new entrées, one of which is a new plant based option! Kat Saka’s Kettle, the snack shop that offers a variety of popcorn, will also be offering two new mixes for a limited time! What would a visit to Galaxy’s Edge be without trying the new milk offering? Are you team blue or green milk? Maybe you will be team Tenoo Swirl? This new version of blue milk is topped with “strawberry and grape candy pebbles” as stated by Disney Destinations.
Are you in the area but not heading into the parks? If you find yourself in Downtown Disney, you will find the cutest Grogu Candy Apple at Marceline’s Confectionary.
Soaring over to the opposite coast, Walt Disney World also has some delicious new delectables. As mentioned before, Hollywood Studios offers a Wookie Cookie, an oatmeal cookie sandwich with cream filling, year round at the Backlot Express. There you will find a chocolate Darth Vader Cupcake as well!
Docking Bay 7 in Hollywood Studios will also offer a new treat; this one is a raspberry cream puff named “Oi-Oi Puff.” Also, the Lightsaber Churros are making a return this year, but only available May 4th and 5th!
Was Hollywood Studios not on your list to visit this trip? That’s ok, there are still a few ways to help celebrate the day without being inside the parks. Pineapple Lani at Disney’s Polynesian Resort is whipping up a new mint flavored soft serve ice cream sundae just for the occasion. Act fast though, it will only be available on May 4th! And for the entire month of May, The Ganachery in Disney Springs will have a new, and limited time only, pinata. This item is crafted to look like Queen Amidala, and is almost too beautiful to crack open for the chocolate and raspberry bark that fills the inside.
While there are so many more treats to choose from, you will just have to go experience it yourself! Be sure to reach out to Marvelous Mouse Travels today to get your last minute trip to experience May the 4th in the parks with the rest of the Star Wars fans! Not able to make it this year? Reach out to start planning for next year! May is a fantastic time to visit both Walt Disney World and Disneyland for a family vacation!
