Agents with Marvelous Mouse Travels had the pleasure of attending an exclusive, invite-only Celebrity Cruises Host Intensive event. Held at the beautiful Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, the location for this couldn’t have been more ideal. This new hotel is just steps away from Port Everglades Cruise Terminal, making it a perfect option for clients looking for a convenient and comfortable pre- or post-cruise stay.

The afternoon kicked off at 3:00 PM with a relaxed mix-and-mingle hour. Upon arrival, we checked in, picked up our event credentials, and had the opportunity to connect with fellow travel professionals. It was a great time to network, share experiences, and build relationships with others who share a passion for cruising and delivering exceptional client experiences.

At 4:00 PM, we transitioned into the main seminar, Guided by Growth, an engaging and informative session led by members of the Celebrity Cruises leadership team. We heard from Katina Athanasiou, Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, and Keith Jorgensen, Vice President of National Sales, who took the stage. They welcomed the entire Celebrity sales team present at the event to join and make introductions.

It was very impressive to learn the depth of experience within the team. Many of the sales leaders have long-standing careers with the brand, which truly speaks to the strength of the company culture and their commitment to both their travel advisor partners and their guests. Their role is to support travel agents and agencies like ours, helping us grow our businesses while delivering exceptional vacation experiences to our clients.
With approximately 150 travel advisors in attendance, the room was filled with energy, collaboration, and a shared passion for the cruise industry. The session began with valuable insights into current industry trends, giving us a deeper understanding of where travel, and cruising in particular, is headed. From there, we dove into key brand updates, commercial strategies, and new tools designed to help advisors better serve their clients and grow their businesses. We also gained insight into deployment plans, giving us a glimpse into where Celebrity Cruises ships are sailing and how clients can take advantage of these exciting itineraries.

A key theme throughout the presentation was Celebrity Cruises’ vision for the future of travel. The team emphasized their desire to shift the mindset of their guests: from viewing a cruise as a “vacation of a lifetime” to embracing it as part of a “lifetime of vacations.”
This philosophy reflects a bigger, more ambitious goal: to position Celebrity Cruises as the best premium vacation brand, not just within the cruise industry, but across all styles of travel. Whether clients are sailing the Caribbean, exploring Europe, or looking for a more immersive and elevated getaway, the focus is on delivering consistently exceptional experiences that keep guests coming back time and time again.
Another important focus of the session was Celebrity Cruises’ ongoing investment in travel advisor education and support. The team highlighted their commitment to providing agents with the tools, training, and resources needed to better serve clients and grow their businesses. From enhanced learning platforms to updated sales tools, it’s clear that empowering advisors is a top priority.

Innovation was also a major theme woven throughout the presentation. Celebrity Cruises continues to evolve not only its onboard experience but also its overall brand footprint within the travel industry. One of the most exciting topics discussed during the event was the brand’s expansion into river cruising, with plans to launch in 2027. This move marks a significant step forward, allowing Celebrity Cruises to offer even more diverse and immersive travel experiences beyond ocean cruising. For clients who are interested in more intimate, destination-focused itineraries, this will open the door to an entirely new way to experience the elevated service and modern luxury the brand is known for.
Another standout takeaway was how much Celebrity Cruises values feedback; not just from travel advisors, but from their loyal guests as well. The team shared how they actively incorporate input and suggestions when designing new ships and experiences. A perfect example of this is their innovative “Dream Makers” initiative, which recently played a role in shaping Celebrity Xcel, which is sailing its inaugural season. Through this program, both travel advisors and consumers are invited to participate in polls and voting opportunities that influence everything from onboard features to overall guest experience. This approach creates a true sense of community and collaboration, allowing those who know and love the brand to have a voice in its future.
Personalization was another major focus throughout the evening. Celebrity Cruises recognizes that in today’s world, nearly every aspect of our lives is customizable, and travel should be no exception. With that in mind, the brand is continuing to invest in ways to better understand their guests and tailor experiences to match individual preferences. From more targeted marketing to curated onboard experiences, the goal is to meet travelers where they are and deliver vacations that truly reflect what matters most to them.
We also received an in depth overview of the newest ship in the fleet, Celebrity Xcel, which Marvelous Mouse Travels had the honor of being in attendance for its Christening and Naming sailing. One of the most unique concepts on borad is “The Bazaar,” an immersive, ever-evolving space onboard featuring four rotating festival themes inspired by the destinations the ship visits. The goal is to “unlock” the destination and bring it onboard, giving guests a deeper connection to the places they are exploring, even while at sea.
The team also shared updates about the revitalization of the Solstice-class ships. Celebrity Cruises is bringing these fan-favorite ships into dry dock to introduce enhancements inspired by some of the most popular features found across the fleet, blending “best of” experiences with entirely new concepts, upgraded entertainment venues, and refreshed spaces. Celebrity Reflection will be the next ship to undergo this transformation.
We next dove into a deployment deep dive led by Chris Allen, Vice President of Deployment and Itinerary Planning for Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. Chris explained how Celebrity Cruises plans itineraries to all seven continents. He described the process as less like a game of darts and more like a game of chess, taking into account guest demand, seasonality, trends, and overall experience.

The final portion of the evening was the Celebrity Showcase: Building Your Business, a trade show-style event designed to help travel advisors grow their business. Multiple interactive stations provided opportunities to deepen product knowledge, learn new strategies, and connect directly with members of the Celebrity headquarters team. The experience was complemented by a lovely dinner with passed hors d’oeuvres, making it a perfect way to end the evening.
Overall, the Celebrity Cruises Host Intensive was an incredibly valuable experience for the Marvelous Mouse Travels team. From learning about exciting innovations like Celebrity Xcel and the upcoming Celebrity River Cruises expansion to gaining deeper insight into personalization, deployment strategy, and advisor tools, the event reinforced why this brand continues to stand out in the premium travel space.

Most importantly, it equipped us with the knowledge, connections, and confidence to better serve our clients, helping turn their dream vacations into unforgettable experiences, again and again.
